♡Authentic Italian cuisine - Sorprendente♡
I absolutely love this restaurant for many many reasons and it is noticeable that special care and attention has been taken into every little detail to ensure you of a fine dining experience.
The moment you walk in and are seated you are taken out of Vietnam and have the feeling of now being sat in a typical Italian family restaurant somewhere in the heart of Rome or Milan. The decor is tasteful with quality wooden furniture and ambient light features. The staff are very well dressed and polite and I really enjoy to watch the Chef prepare and cook Pizzas in the traditional wood burning oven on display.
The menu is varied and there is something for all tastes. On the first Night I came here I tried the Arancini on the Owner "Nico's" recommendation as I had never tried this before, this was followed by a main course of Gnocchi Pesto which is one of my favourites. After I had finished my meal a very chilled limoncello was served as a complimentary digestif and Nico joined me for a wonderful conversation which was the perfect end to a great night.
I was impressed so much by the food and experience that I took a friend there soon after. On this occasion we had to try a Pizza and this certainly did not disappoint as it was hands down one of, if not THE BEST PIZZA I have EVER had. We then had the Spaghetti Chitarra which has a yummy homemade tomato sauce with tiny meatballs and despite being full we couldn't resist trying a dessert and both went for the Passion Fruit Panna Cotta which was absolutely DELICIOUS to say the least. Once again Nico was the perfect host and on this occasion he invited us to a glass of his special liquor "Genziana" which was a family recipe and made using a special plant that he brought with him all the way from his home town in Italy, it doesn't get more authentic than that, what a great guy
As I am now temporarily living in Nha Trang this will be my goto place on a regular basis as I feel so welcome here and most certainly the place to go to impress friends or loved ones.

Read moreHighly recommend this place if you're looking for something besides Vietnamese food in Nha Trang. My wife and I had burschette, lasagna, and mare pizza (seafood with white sauce base), and everything was fantastic. The quality of all the ingredients was what really stood out. The bread was great and the burschette toppings were very good. The lasagna managed to be flavorful and rich but not too rich and heavy, and it held together well (could cut through it easily without it falling apart, which is a common problem with lasagna at restaurants in Vietnam). Usually I'm not a fan of seafood pizzas but I loved this one because the seafood was clearly very fresh and so were the rest of the ingredients, and it all paired very well with the white sauce base so the flavors were well balanced and subtle, all on top of a nice crust. I really enjoyed the limoncello spritz as well, and they gave us each a complimentary limoncello shot at the end. Having had limoncello a couple times in Italy, I felt it was good quality stuff.
The service was at a very high standard as all the staff were very friendly and attentive, which isn't always the case at western restaurants in Vietnam. The place has a nice location that's very central, but it's down a small side street so it's quiet down there which makes for a relaxing place to have dinner. It wasn't exactly cheap, but not too pricey, and considering the quality of the food and everything, it was a great value. Highly recommend this case for dinner with family, friends, romantic date, or whatever...

La Cala – Gusto Italiano is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported straight to the heart of Italy. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with beautiful decor and a relaxed, upscale vibe. But the real magic is in the food.
Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic Italian flavor – clearly made with love and the highest quality ingredients. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the seafood incredibly fresh, and the pizza had that perfect crispy-yet-chewy crust you only find in Italy. You must try the truffle pasta and the tiramisu – they’re life-changing.
We started with one of their incredible meat and cheese boards, which was a work of art – a curated selection of Italian cured meats, cheeses, olives, and fresh bread that set the tone for the rest of the meal. And just when we thought we couldn’t be more impressed, we ended the evening with their famous Nutella pizza – warm, gooey, and utterly indulgent. A must-have for anyone with a sweet tooth!
The service was flawless. Attentive, knowledgeable staff who genuinely care about your experience. They even recommended the perfect wine pairing to elevate our dishes even further.
