Over the 2 days that I had lunch/dinner here, it was always quiet amd cozy, less than 10 tables filled. Prices are definitely more expensive but it is a proper restaurant after all. Inclusive of VAT. Not sure how fresh the seafood buffet is as I didn't try, but it seemed to be their popular item based on the advertisement outside the restaurant.
Got grilled prawns in garlic butter sauce (189k vnd for 6 prawns), super flavourful, recommended! Got a garlic bread basket (79k vnd) and a fresh coconut (65k vnd) as well.
Got their fried rice with salmon (109k vnd), tastes average. Some salmon bits in the fried rice, a small square slice of salmon served on top of the rice. Can skip this.
Staff spoke English, took orders quickly. It would be nice if they were more attentive but that's not a realistic expectation for a regular restaurant. Drinks served quickly, food took a little long to come, but still acceptable.
Saw 2 huge rats roaming around the dining area. I had no issues whatsoever but if you are sensitive you might want to keep this fact in view.

Read moreMiss Bamboo is primarily a Vietnamese restaurant. The menu is designed for Vietnam's well-heeled and has a range of Vietnamese pork, beef, seafood and chicken favourites. Also some Vietnamese street food favourites. There's almost nothing for vegetarians or vegans, but for the beverages and fried rice with basil leaf. For breakfast the only non-meat dish was baguette with eggs. That too came with pork meatballs! Luckily, the eggs are served with a salad, and the baguette is substantial, which means you don't go hungry, if you order this. For USD 4, a breakfast combo with canned juice, isn't something one goes ga-ga about, but sit and enjoy the street views and the beach across the road. The architecture of beautiful bamboo pillars supporting a thatched hut has great aesthetics and ambience. The outdoor seating of cane sofas around the bar counter, and sun umbrellas under trees, is pretty and quite spacious. Rest assured you'll get a seat, unless it's a national holiday. Enjoy the inhouse craft beer and skip the food, if you're...
Read moreSome of the worst service I’ve ever experienced, anywhere. Despite the restaurant being empty and the staff standing around staring at us, we had no one come up to us or ever offer a menu after sitting for 10 minutes. They messed up and forgot my wife’s drink, then argued that we never ordered it, before finally bringing it Later, my grandparents showed up, and my grandmother said that she wanted the same thing as wife. They messed that up too. Later, they insisted we ordered an extra entree, and the server was scolding my wife over it.
The real kicker though, was as we were leaving my nephew slipped and split his lip open on the entrance steps. They claimed it was our fault (we were leaving and he was supervised), and refused to pay for the bill, arguing it was our fault. They offered three drinks (for a party of 8) instead. It’s worth noting my wife is Vietnamese, language wasn’t an issue.
Absolutely atrocious.
My nephew is fine though, he did end up needing three stitches ruining...
