San Izakaya — Restaurant in Nha Trang City

Came here at 2:30pm. Only a few staff working. Only 4 people in the restaurant. Waited 1hr for the rest of our food to come out. My friend was supper hungry becauseher dishes too so long to come out despite it being just rice and eel. Food was a big disappointment.

salmon+avocado sushi with avocado overripe and mushy and salmon does not taste supper fresh tamago sushi: rice was too vingary, tamago was tiny and mostly were rice, seaweed was too chewy because it was wrapped twice eel rice bowl was hot but took 1hr to come out. Eel piece was tiny and sad egg roll came out last. It was very salty because the fish egg were cooked with the egg roll.

Staff acknowledged how slow it was and gave us watermelon. I could hear the chef yelling in the backroom. They didn’t start serving yakitori til 5pm which was the reason we even came. So they opened during non-peak hours with low staff. Why not just close the restaurant at those hours. Seriously food was a big disappointment. I wouldn’t even blame the staff. Disappointed with the quality and food safety concerns

I recently visited Izakaya San in Nha Trang with my wife and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. We ordered three rolls: tuna, salmon, and eel. While I could overlook the fact that the overall quality of the rolls was below average, my main concern was the suspiciously sour smell of the tuna in the tuna roll.

Having worked as a sushi chef in a Japanese restaurant in Moscow for five years, I can easily distinguish between fresh and spoiled seafood. I politely pointed out my concern to the staff and asked them to inform the chef. However, I was assured that the product was “perfectly fine.”

Despite their response, I no longer felt comfortable eating the rest of the food, as I couldn’t trust the freshness of the ingredients. My appetite was gone, and so was my mood. I chose not to make a scene, calmly explained my position, paid, and left.

I had an awful experience here. Me and my friend ordered a ramen, some skewers, miso soup and a eel rice bowl. Ramen and miso soul came out and ramen was good and we waited almost an hour and no other dishes were coming. Had to asked them many times and they finally came out with the skewers, they were mid btw. Asked abt the eel bowl and they completely forgot abt it lol anyway didn’t feel like eating the miso soup so we ate what we had and paid and will never come back.
