TOURIST TRAP.
See attached text message from restaurant acknowledging poor service.
We called prior and had a booking. We asked in Vietnamese whether they had octopus. The man who answered said they had everything under the sea.
We arrived. We should have left many times....
1st red flag she greeter asked us to order with her before we were seated. before we were shown the seafood. she handed us the english menu and stood there with us. she assumed we were Westerners that didnt speak or read vietnamese.
we ordered the squid, prawns and octopus (no octopus apparently not served here for a long time now) and vegies. second red flag we had to insist on seeing the seafood. we should have left when we saw our squid was from a Styrofoam box. dead slime.
3rd red flag our drinks were warm. warm beer and warm coconut.
4th redflag our seafood came out. prawns unpeeled (it is standard that they come over and peel for you as there is no gloves, we asked prior it is a part of their service). the grilled squid was raw on the inside. we told them i was pregnant. it was uncut. just 5 raw squids.
5th red flag, we stood up in total 5 times to ask for scissors to cut the squid. we had to ask for sauces 4 times.
6th red flag vegies (just boiled kind) came after meal.
We ordered more drinks. it never came.
We stood up to pay the bill. a staff member saw our dissatisfaction as it was shared with the table next to us.
They said theyll reprimand but we said it wasn't a single fault it was many. they were just saying words for sake of it.
Bill was over 1M đong.
They had my mobile number as I had made a booking. they texted after snooping on my socials. I do not have a huge following about 27K. See...
Read moreWe wanted to order Peeled Mantis Shrimps Garlic Fried, but was persuaded to order Mantis Shrimp Garlic Fried instead. Reason given by order taker is the Peeled Mantis Shrimp is not tasty. We appreciate her honesty. We asked her, if not tasty why sell? Obviously they are trying hard sell on more expensive items. Plus, the images she showed us from her mobile looks the same between the two. Be careful as they termed the food differently and so is the price.
We ordered Clam Steamed with Lemongrass and Seabass Steamed in soya sauce. Believe me, the Clam was tasteless, too dilute and the Seabass was a lil bit salty. Food is also served cold.
When paying, I was told both my credit cards were rejected, which was impossible. Then the lady boss came, asked me for USD, insisted that my cards were rejected by both Malaysia local banks (without even try again) . When we told her we have no cash, only cards, she directed me to withdraw from Atm and she hinted one of her staff by "moving her elbow and touching that staff and blinked at her", indicating that 'no choice let's take card'. Out of sudden, my card was successfully processed by bank. If you only want cash, please don't confuse customer and giving wrong info that all cards are accepted.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as its overrated. Prices are so much expensive, considering it's not even foreign tourist dining spot. You're just paying extra for the sea view, where you can get it free of charge just by walking...
