I visited Nage Eatery Phu Quoc today at 3:30 PM, hoping to enjoy some drinks and pasta. However, I was informed that only set dinners were available, which was disappointing for a casual meal.
My party and I are allergic to beef, so we requested to modify the main course of the set menu. Unfortunately, the only alternative offered was duck, priced at 450 VND compared to beef at 1350 VND. Although other options at the same price were mentioned, the staff insisted that no further changes could be made.
Additionally, several reviews highlight the restaurant’s high prices, and I found this to be accurate. The pricing felt unjustified given the limited menu flexibility and the additional costs for substitutions. The handling of our dietary needs lacked transparency and accommodation, leaving us feeling undervalued as customers.
Overall, our experience was disappointing, and the establishment did not seem honest or willing to accommodate customers' needs.

Read moreBook between 5.40 and 6.15 PM to get the perfect sunset hour. There’s 2 tables right in front of the sea view, but anywhere on the rooftop there’s a nice view. 🫶
As for the food, it’s all delicious. We ordered the uni pâté which was tasty, but they shouldn’t market it as uni because doesn’t really taste like it. Also, there isn’t enough bread to eat all the pâté, we asked for more but they didn’t have it. I would love to have finished it, so a biiiiit bummed haha.
The oysters were really meaty, really nice. The tartare cones are very tasty, the portion is quite small but still nice.
I wouldn’t really recommend the catch of the day, we had grouper and it was quite a small piece. Still delicious tho but maybe inform about the portion so you’re not going hungry ;)
Those grilled gamba’s are AMAZING. Great marinade and such soft meat. Would really recommend those! The grilled octopus is also a MUST order, so delicious.
All in all, a great place with an absolute amazing view. Even just for a drink and an appetizer, this is a MUST visit...
Read moreWorst pasta of my life. I have never had a pasta so bad I could not take more than 2 bites despite being famished. The pasta sauce tasted as if they poured in ketchup and added extra sugar. The taste was of oversweetened canned Chef Boyardee pasta. I would have finished the can. Market fish with Thai curry was pretty standard. Fish was overcooked. The scallop appetizer was the best thing we had. A nice note of umami and well-balanced. Sauce slightly sweeter than I would have preferred but not overpowering due to the meatiness of the scallop. The fish tartar was also ok and executed well. Familiar flavors for the start of fine dining meal. Service was lackluster at best. There was no attention beyond handing off the food. Servers were more interested in chatting with each other than topping off a glass. Do not recommend. Perhaps we came in on an off day. The server did mention the main chef was off. Perhaps we chose the wrong menu items, however this was a disappointing highlight of our phuquoc trip for all the...
