We were looking forward to eating here after reading some of the reviews. We ordered taste of the sea spring rolls to start. They were greasy and lacked flavour. We then had vegetarian beef fried rice. It came with 4 bits of beef, 4 slices of pepper on a lettuce leaf with a small portion of rice and a few chips, which was bizarre. We were expecting a fried rice dish that was mixed with beef and veg. The biggest disappointment was the flavour. There wasn't any flavour to it at all. We also had the crispy noodles dish, which again lacked any flavour at all and was so bland. The ginger tea we ordered was nice though. The presentation of the dishes were OK. But very small portions. Just don't use a wet wipe on the table as you get charged for it, which is a bit underhand as there isn't notice in English that states this. A pricey restaurant with bland food and they don't take cards. Oh and if you go to the loo watch out for the giant...

If you like Vietnamese food but prefer vegan then this is your spot. I live in California and enjoy Vietnamese food back home including good vegan / vegetarian options. However, this place is just a whole different level! The location is in the main town in central island and the ambience is clean and chic. We enjoyed the lemon grass tofu which gives the classic lemon grass infused taste of Vietnamese cooking. Additionally the clay pot eggplant wad a great dish with a nice flavorful curry to eat with rice. The bao buns were filled with a delightful internal stuffing with great savory flavor. The fresh spring roles were crisp and fresh. We also enjoyed the Singapore noodles and Hong kong tofu. My favorite, since I am a salad and raw food lover, was the mango salad. Think of a Thai papaya salad but this is with green mango and Vietnamese flavor! Great place to try local flavors vegan style.

Be advised they...

Not the best food experience at a vegitarian restaurant, but it has some plus points.

I ordered

As an appetizer deep fried hong kong styled tofu And as the main course vegitarian beef fried dish with rice and pickels

They choose to serve the mains course first. Big mistake. The beef ( made from tofu?) was marinated to perfection it had bite it had taste. The sour pickels was so so The rice was dry, so dry soy sauce could not save it.

I asked if they usely serve dry rice, they said no and offered me some new batch of rice. I kindly declined because i was saving myself for the tofu.

The tofu was rather late on arrival, and I thought of they had forgotten it. So i asked where it was and if they had not started on it then they should forget about the order.

Luckily they did not and the tofu was done quite excellent, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

I give it 2 and half...
