I called Wednesday morning to see if there was going to be any entertainment that evening.. the man that answered said there was going to be a band that night and it will start at 9:30-9:45ish.. he wasn’t even sure on a time. The man was unprofessional when he answered the phone, you would have thought it was just someone answering a phone call from a friend, not someone who owns a business. Me and my girl got there early, it was still closed.. other people were trying to get in behind us as well. No person in sight. That was about 9:15pm. We went to another lounge while waiting for the event to get started at 9:30. (Which the sign on the door stated 9:30). It was my birthday, I’m all dressed up and didn’t want to be standing on the street waiting. We were going to head back around 10:30 but something told us to call before we called an uber and see if the show was still going on… we call and the man says “oh we’re actually going to be there Friday”…. Are you kidding me?!?!! How disappointing and unprofessional People are traveling from out of state to come to this establishment and you just decide “hmm not going to open today” just no regard to the people that organized their day to be there!! Definitely wasn’t expecting the night to go that way and we had a flight to catch the next morning. Just very disappointed with the lack of communication, professionalism. It’s sad that this was my first impression of such a popular...
Read moreIf you're under 21, be ready to be treated like middle schooler. I went here with my boyfriend to see a friend play a gig before they go to New York for school. we hadn't even walked though the door when this guy who worked there told us rudely we couldn't sit at the bar (we're obviously teenagers) and we had to leave a 9. There isn't an entree fee but you have to buy a $4 drink to sit in. Literally you don't even get to sit down and get comfortable and talk to friends before the bartender is bugging you to buy the sit in drink, even if you're not thirsty at the time. Everything was ok after that, music was great, the players were some friends I had gone to school with, and I emphasized the fact that they were all under 21. The set is clearly about to end soon but as soon as 9 hit the same door guy rudely approached my company and I and told us we needed to leave now. I was confused as to why we couldn't stay another 5 minutes just to see our friends finish playing and I said this but the guy raised his voice at us and we left before anything ensued. The place is very intimate, the music is sick, but if you're under 21, be prepared to be treated like an adolescent child. And even if you're over 21, be prepared to be treated poorly by door and bar staff, who treat you like a criminal as soon as you walk through the door and loom over you if you don't buy the sit in drink...
Read moreWas allowed entry then asked to leave the premises with no reason or explanation. It was crowded so we were just standing by the bar waiting for an opportunity to order a drink. I got asked to scan my ID again which I gave with no hesitation and it came out valid (all green checks, I work at a dispensary and have checked IDs as part of my job). If I suspect someone has a fake ID I tell them that it’s fake and that I’m going to confiscate it and call the police if they try and argue. If their ID doesn’t match the person in front of me, then I ask for a secondary form of ID or even a credit card. None of those things were done and reading the other bad reviews I wasn’t shocked by the power trip and I know the difference between that and someone doing their job.
I truly don’t mind not giving a dime of my business to an establishment whose staff doesn’t respect people enough to explain why they have to leave “their premises” simply because they feel they don’t owe anyone anything. I only came because my best friend really wanted to come experience live jazz music for her birthday which was luckily saved by a better and more entertaining spot. Properly train your staff on how to check IDs or keep losing potential business. I’m not the only person that has had a...
