The Wood Street Cafe in Lakkar Bazaar, Shimla is a charming and cozy spot that serves up delicious food in a quaint setting. The cafe is tucked away in a corner of the bustling bazaar and offers a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the market. The menu features a variety of Indian and continental dishes, with an emphasis on local Himachali cuisine. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable.
The cafe has a rustic and warm atmosphere, with wooden beams and a fireplace adding to the charm. The seating is comfortable and the service is friendly and attentive. The cafe also has a small terrace area that offers lovely views of the surrounding hills.
One of the standout dishes at Wood Street Cafe is the "Pahari Chicken," a traditional Himachali dish made with boneless chicken, yogurt, and a blend of spices. The flavors are bold and well-balanced, and the chicken is tender and juicy. Another great option is the "Lamb Rogan Josh," a classic Indian dish made with tender lamb and a flavorful tomato-based sauce.
The cafe also offers a selection of hot and cold beverages, including chai, coffee, and a variety of teas. The desserts are also worth trying, especially the "Gajar Ka Halwa," a traditional Indian dessert made with grated carrots and milk, and the "Gud Ki Kulfi," a homemade ice cream made with jaggery.
Overall, Wood Street Cafe is a great spot for a casual meal in a lovely setting. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It's a great place to stop for a bite while exploring the bazaar, or for a casual dinner...

Read moreWood Street Cafe in Shimla is an absolute gem! I recently visited this charming establishment and was blown away by the incredible food, cozy ambiance, and friendly staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home.
I started off with a delicious cappuccino that was perfectly brewed and served with just the right amount of foam. Next, I tried the pizza, which was absolutely divine. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful.
But the real star of the show was the Nutella pancakes! They were hands down the best pancakes I have ever tasted - fluffy, moist, and loaded with Nutella goodness. If you have a sweet tooth, do not leave without trying them.
The momos were also fantastic - juicy and packed with flavor. The french toast was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with fresh fruit and syrup. And last but not least, the burgers were juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
Overall, I cannot recommend Wood Street Cafe enough. The food is top-notch, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you are ever in Shimla, this is the...
