I just left this treatment center. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!!!!! Before I decided to go to Banyan I was on the phone with admissions, which described an incredible treatment center and emailed me pictures of the residence for PHP while I was on the phone with him. I decided to go to Banyan bc it was in network with my insurance, there were no housing fee during PHP, breakfast and lunch were provided and I could continue my therapy with their psychiatrist that specializes in EMDR. When I arrived, I was advised they were NOT in network with my insurance, and there was a $500 housing fee. After a few phone calls back and forth and being told they will give me 48 hours to find a new PHP, this issue was resolved. Then we pulled up to the housing for PHP?!?! I thought we were at the wrong house picking someone up bc this was NOT the house that was in the pictures that were emailed!!!! Upon entering the womens residence which is on the top floor, we walked through the outside door which has NO locks on it, and is opened all night!!!! I was told breakfast and lunch were not provided. Further more after I addressed my complaints numerous times to administration, 2 more women moved in the house and had the same complaints!!!!!! I then found out that they do not have a psychiatrist at the clinical facility, nor do they have anyone that does EMDR therapy. I left my treatment early from this so called treatment center to continue it elsewhere. I would not let my worst enemy seek treatment from...
Read moreI attended Banyan Philly for 2 weeks 3 days for alcohol. I made the mistake of coming from VA to receive treatment. From the moment I walked in, I was never the priority. In their defense, they were in the process of quarantining from a recent COVID case, but it just got worse from there. “Partial hospitalization” was a barely clean house with women downstairs and men upstairs. The med techs barely talked with us and also forgot to pick up my meds and I went without them for 6 days. The laundry was in the basement which I could not access due to a foot fracture. My insurance was billed $2,535 for this. The “treatment sessions” were mostly group and barely educational about my disease. I received two 1:1 counseling sessions ($4.095 with Aetna). I was told they were in network but when I arrived I was not. I was told I would get a blood screen but that did mot happen. Here is a copy of the bill that is headed your way if you go there. Btw the head aches continue with their customer service POST-“treatment.” For example, I called on a Saturday to change my auto-draft payment date and got a voicemail! No online options - no one answers the main number. How do people run a business like this. I hope they...
Read moreI was a patient at Banyan less than a week ago.
The center is very nice. The accommodations are pretty nice as well. My issues were with the Counselors and the scheduling. They most definitely need better counselors. Most of them are full of themselves and are set in their mind frames. Your point of view and thoughts do not matter to them. Once they have made up their mind about what they think you are doing or saying, there is nothing that you can say as a patient that will change that. I almost feel like, my thoughts were not even listened to. As far as the scheduling goes, it's just with the timings of events. You are never told when the meetings are, you just have to sit and wait for the tech to say, we are leaving in 30 minutes or so. You have to wait on that info to plan your events. Different houses seem to follow different routines as well. I heard a few other houses complain that they were not getting the same benefits that we were getting.
BEWARE: The COUNSELORS TALK TO YOUR FAMILY WITHOUT TELLING YOU AND AT TIMES EVEN CONVINCE THEM TO PAY OUT OF POCKET WHEN INSURANCE REFUSES TO. At over $2K a day, that is a lot of money...
