I am writing this review based off of an experience of 01/08/25.
The food itself was mediocre at best. I understand that this is a Franchise and that frozen food is served. However, this food should not make customers ill or sick.
Me and a friend ordered the queso dip which later in the night made us both sick.
She ordered a burrito that she couldn’t eat because they overfilled the burrito with beans and less of the needed portion size. She also got fire roasted corn and it was completely burnt/ charred. She did not even get to eat it. There is a difference with a light char vs pure burnt-ness.
I got the Mexican smash burger. I thought it would be “smashed”. It’s two frozen patties stacked on each other with no flavor or seasoning.
The facility is huge and I never understood why it was never packed yet lacked service so greatly. Clean facility and it’s stunning, it’s in a nice location. So it has nothing to due with location but everything to do with the food, portion control, and prices.
I only came to visit this place one other time, almost two years ago and I didn’t know why I never came back. That time I had tacos and it wasn’t good then, the drinks were.
I’m glad that the name stands up it really is truly just good for Margaritas.
We got some of our food comped. And I felt bad so I ordered a steak quesadilla to go and a lava cake. The owner stated that the lava cake is pre-packaged which is understandable and insisted on us getting the fried ice cream. However, I wanted something of chocolate. But knowing that we got sick from our food, I’m not sure why I tried.
I agreed that the lava cake was good because by the end of the meal I complained the entire time, but the lava cake was heated too long so it was crunchy and hard.
The quesadilla I tried to eat on the next day, thinking it was just me. However, I got sick from eating the steak meat on the quesadilla.
The cost in total for the meal was $90 and we got comped for it paying still $50. This does not take away from the experience, but we had a great server who agreed that our food did not look appetizing or appealing.
I wasn’t going to make the review, but after seeing other comments of people getting sick, this sends alarms to me.
The restaurant needs to be cleaned, whatever is going on in the kitchen is making people sick and this is a judgment that needs to take place. Please pay attention to where you eat. There are plenty of better Tex-Mex restaurants and I am saddened that I gave this place...
Read moreMy friend and I decided to do a double date night with our partners at this location. Our partners are 20 years old and served as my friend and my’s designated drivers. Once arriving at the restaurant, my friend and I spent some time going over the drink menu—as they have a wide selection of margaritas and we were incredibly excited to celebrate an achievement. Even though my friend and I were able to present our IDs, we were not allowed to order a beverage because our partners—who were not drinking or sitting at the bar—are not 21. We were told that the restaurant was citing a legal statue but we frequent restaurants in the area and have NEVER been asked to present IDs for those who are not drinking. After researching the law, it seems like the manager of this establishment simply just doesn’t know how to interpret legal code. If it’s a company policy (or maybe a policy the manager made up specifically for our table since we are clearly young adults), fine. But don’t incorrectly cite the “law.” The worst part is that our very sweet waitress had to explain this to us—the manager couldn’t be bothered with handling a situation that, in my opinion, is a manger’s duty and not a waitress’s.
I think it’s important to add that the restaurant neglected to inform us about this “rule” until we were already sat down, had chips, and non-alcoholic beverages. If told in advance, maybe we would have had enough time to visit a different restaurant.
Aside from this incredibly annoying experience, the food was alright and kind of cold. The food coupled with the treatment we received from the manager (or lack thereof) is more than enough reason for us to never visit again.
So, if you’re looking to enjoy a nice out with friends and may have a friend/DD that is not 21, don’t bother.
Thanks for spoiling...
Read moreThey were misleading and totally unprofessional during my attempt to secure a date for our daughter's birthday dinner. I called at least 1.5 months ago and spoke to a young man who assured me that it was okay to leave our cake before going to Sesame Place. He also assured me that the restaurant would be able to accommodate our party of 25.
On June 15th I called and spoke with, Marisa, she again reassured me that our party was going to be accommodated, even stating that there was a party room for 25-30 persons. I asked if there was a time limit for dining, as we planned for 6p, and was told that everything was fine as long as we were done by 930p. Great!
The next day, June 16th, I received a call from, Sasha. That's when EVERYTHING CHANGED! She said that we COULDN'T leave our cake for the restaurant had nowhere to hold it. She said that we could come at 2P instead of 6p, because the restaurant would not be able to accommodate so large a party, as Sesame Place closed at that hour and they'd be bombarded with customers! I corrected her sharing that the park closed at 9p not 6p. She said that if we wanted to we could be seated separately. I was confused and angry. What happened to all of the accommodations we were guaranteed twice before her?! Fed up, I disregarded entertaining the idea of Margarita's altogether. We had already informed all of our guest's of the dinner plans and now I've to research somewhere else entirely with less than 2 weeks to go! Just...
