Decided to give Bonefish Grill another chance yesterday (02/15/2023) after having a disappointing experience on 10/13/2021. Unfortunately, this once-favorite restaurant of mine has gone even further downhill to the point I needed to give it only 1 star.
To start, the service was poor. Asked the wait person to bring a straw three times. It was very difficult to get her attention as she frequently disappeared for more than 15 minutes at a time. She also never brought us bread â had to ask for it half way through our meal. And she brought me a side of steamed broccoli instead of the garlic mashed potatoes I asked for. The waitress was overall so poor that for the first time in many years, I left only a 15% tip. I typically leave 20% even for meh service and 25%-30% for good service.
Additionally, the garlic mashed potatoes are TERRIBLE now! They used to be great and very garlicky. Now they're not only lumpy, but they have no garlic in them AT ALL, yet Bonefish is still (falsely) advertising them as âgarlic whipped potatoes.â when I complained about the garlic mashed potatoes not having any garlic in them, the waitress seemed completely unconcerned. She never offered to bring a new batch or anything different. It's a shame because I used to go to BFG in large part just for those potatoes.
Also very disappointed that they no longer offer crème brulee.
All this and the meals were still WAY overpriced. Could have spent just $20 more and had a very fine meal and experience at the expensive Tuscana 52 on Street Road.
Will not be returning to this, once formerly a good restaurant.
Edit on 04/24/2023: I did file a detailed comment with the website as is typically asked, and today I got a phone call from the local BFG. However, I was out for 30 minutes today when they called and they did not leave a message. I don't know who to call back or who to ask for. I also never heard anything from corporate. Guess they're not really that interested in what...
Read moreMy family and I just experienced the most unwelcoming, unpleasant, frustrating, and highly disgusting experience at this location just a few minutes ago. From the beginning we felt something would go wrong, but we were staying hopeful. We were sat down by a young hostess and she was not very friendly. After leaving our menus at the table and retrieving a high chair for my young son, she went back to her duties and we sat and waited for a several minutes for a server. As ! watched the dining room, there were 5 other booths occupied and being tended to by 3 different servers. We had yet to be spoken to by any of the 3 servers. Growing impatient and agitated, we continued to wait. As we sat there, another employee began to setup another table beside us, for a larger party. The male server with dark hair, round black glasses, and an iPad around his neck, approached the man setting up the table and asked how many guest and if there were any children in the party. He then returned to a corner, in which we can see him, and stands there waiting. We made eye contact several times, as he looked over to our table. At this point, we have not been approached by any server in that area, when the party of 8 walks in to take their seats. That family was IMMEDIATELY greeted by the server with black glasses and he ask them if they would like any water or bread. TOTALLY DISGUSTING! We were purposely ignored and I am 100% sure it was due to our ethnicity. We packed up, exchanged words with the both hostesses at the front desk, and left the establishment. Our money is just as valuable as the family of 8 that walked in. We all work hard for our money and when we eat meals outside of our homes, we want to make sure our experience is a memorable one. This one was memorable for all the WRONG reasons. WE WILL NEVER DINE AT ANY BONEFISH GRILL ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN! Do better and train...
Read moreFirst time at this location I love the ambience of the restaurant itâs not too bright itâs not too dark. Unfortunately, sitting at the booth can be uncomfortable the seating is horrible and there is a annoying LED that beams onto your table, they should really give your sunglasses an an umbrella to deal with that but if you like me, you just asked them to move to a normal height table.
You can tell that this is a corporate run restaurant itâs unfortunate. They got the great atmosphere. They have a really nice bar but the food thatâs why we came here and itâs subpar in my opinion for the amount of money that you spend you really donât get what you pay for , I just recently ate at McCormick and Schmickâs which is a high-end steak restaurant in Atlantic City and Philadelphia and for the same amount of money that I spent here I ate like a king there. They serve Chilean Seabass, which is not actually Seabass đ itâs actually just a funny name that somebody gave a fish. The fish is ugly. Itâs got big teeth and nobody was eating it but the reality is that itâs meat is actually very tender and succulent.
The lobster tail was nothing special. In my opinion itâs not worth the $35 price tag itâs not a fresh tail itâs a fresh frozen tail and even at $18. Itâs still not worth it itâs tough it has no taste and whoeverâs cooking it in the back has no clue of how to cook a lobster tail because mine was partially raw after I sent it back twice.
Overall, the experience wasnât all that great and if you like small portions, then this is a place to go to if youâre looking for real portions and real fresh seafood that was caught today or yesterday this isnât the place.
Other suggestions Kellyâs Seafood - Welsh Road and Bustleton Avenue mcCormick and Schmickâs - Center City...
