A beautiful piece of West Australian history. Well worth the small admission price. I was so saddened when the attendant said they had few visitors through there. Everything on display was part of a wonderful story. How can you visit a historic town like Albany and not see such a rare site? The locals who saved this cottage and fought for its restoration are to be commended for their vision and spirit. History lessons are so underrated.

Very interesting. Lots of history there with original items from the family. The gentleman on duty was very passionate about the history and the family. He was happy for us to take our time through upon arriving near closing time. Thoroughly enjoyed the cottage

Oldest residence (not farm 😀) in WA. Right in town on Duke St, opposite the Uniting Church. Small, of course, but full of period furniture, appliances, bric a brac. Our Guide knew about each and every item, plus the lives of the various owners. He also made sure we didn't miss his favourite pieces by mistake and hinted that there was a resident ghost. We didn't feel any vibes though. Well worth the nominal...

The cottage is a real step back in time. The house is full of historical artefacts and the lady who was volunteering today (first day), was a gem. Although it was a little past closing she was happy to stay and give us even more details on the old house and surrounds. The stories and photos gives a feeling of it being someone's home.
