Came in for dinner with myself and family after not being for 7 years and got seated perfectly well Had a young girl serving us for the night has a trainee badge on but said to previous table that she’s been working there since December so 8months She was serving the table behind us first and was telling them that what they ordered was too big for them and should order a smaller size and then suggested they order a share plate of coleslaw instead of three sides to save money first time I’ve ever heard someone suggest a cheaper option when they work there
Then came to us ordering
I asked for the New Yorker and she asked how I wanted it and I said medium please then to be told they are sold out of that so me and my partner had to order something else I then asked for the plank and got told it was the last one so I had to order a smaller steak so my partner could have the last one which I’m not mad about but would of been good if they could of said when they seated us that unfortunately they have these steaks unavailable tonight
She then went off and then our food came out Mums steak was in two pieces for a rump which is not normal
We had to sit there and listen to the girl interrupt the table behind us to ask how their meal was when they had only just got their food so didn’t give them a chance to eat and also tell the man oh sorry I think we overcooked your steak
Ate our meal then my partner asked the main waitress for a container and she asked if we would like dessert takeaway and we said yes please she went away to grab container and get the menu The young girl then came over and asked my partner if the steak beat him and we said yes all good we are already getting a container from the other lady Thankyou
And she continued to go oh no she’s busy tending to her children I’ll take it so she took his plate and brought the container back and said how the other lady was off chastising the bar man.
We then had the chef come out to the table behind us and must of known them being regulars and had a seat with them and had a glass of wine while customers were still in the restaurant
We were hearing their conversation which was hard not to hear but some of the things they were saying were just ridiculous
The table were the owners of a winery and they were complaining about people with dietary requirements such as gluten free or lactose free for example they said they had someone who came in and said they were lactose intolerant and they said oh god here we go. Sorry but that is not professional at all! People can’t help what they can and can’t eat.
Then our takeaway desserts got left sitting on counter while we were waiting at the table for them
Coming from a customer service background this is not how you train someone from December to now how to be customer service she was putting on way too much overcompensating and would rather of just been spoke to like a normal human being
There was many more comments we got given From the waitress that just made the night uncomfortable I will not be spending $250 for this service again Our family down here has said they changed owners and you can...
Read moreRustlers, You tried your best. But it wasn’t enough.
Customers beware. The nice sign and the golden plate awards were all a facade.
One of our friends wanted the steak sandwich with the blue cheese sauce. We were told that the steak sandwich was rather big, however, we were extremely disappointed with the size of the meal when it came. She also told us that the blue cheese sauce was too strong for our friend to handle and was reluctant to adding it to our order, making this very awkward and confusing interaction. The blue cheese sauce was in fact very mild and we were lied to once again.
This was just the beginning of our hairy experience. As one of our friends was extremely excited ordering the Americana schnitzel, when it arrived in front of him he was extremely dissatisfied with what was placed in front of him. The Mac and cheese drowning the frozen schnitzel was made from a packet and tasted like dishwater made the entire dish revolting. But that was just the tip of the iceberg, the most disappointing and disgusting part of his experience was a LONG HAIR found inside his dish. When he kindly consulted the waiter about the hair, she offered him a takeaway container. He was shocked at this remark and said he was not paying for this. Furthermore, a manager brought out the hair stating it was none of the staff subtly pushing the blame onto us for planting the strand. Thankfully we didn’t have to pay for this dish however this barely made up for our distasteful experience.
Other then a few things like the small brain aneurysms the waitress had after being asked simple questions such as do you like the kangaroo, or the extremely steep prices on the menu, our experience was close to the worst restaurant dining we could have imagined, One of my friends is certain he has a baby Joey growing inside of him, another 3 are confident the have food poisoning we will never return, and pray for every soul that prances into the jaws of...
Read moreHave to edit my reviews now that I have been to Rustlers on a few separate occasions in my separate trips downsouth and I had varying degree of experience. 1st time I went there for dinner was absolutely amazing! I had sizzling garlic prawns as entree and a very yummy steak, 5-star service and great beer. I hadn't been back to Rustlers since 7 years ago so it's a great feeling to be back again and had the same amazing meals. HOWEVER, a few weeks after that, I went back to Rustlers again on my next trip for a takeaway. I was very excited to tuck in to the same deliciousness...only to be massively disappointed when I opened the packaging to discover a very sad-looking steak. Compare pic 1 with pic 2. I get it that maybe it's a takeaway, but still the meat was very different from the one I had before. The last time I went to Rustlers was just last week for lunch. I actually had a booking that day for dinner as well, but I suddenly had a craving for pork ribs at lunchtime. But unfortunately, I didn't like the pork ribs at all. There's no sauce whatsoever other than what was given in a small container. I was imagining a nice pork ribs dressed in a sweet sticky sauce...but instead it just came looking like a big blob which to be honest, was rather disgusting. See pic 3. Not appetising at all, but since I had to pay for it and I didn't like wasting food, so I tried my best to eat it. At least the meat was soft...but once again, the lack of nice sauce was quite unbearable. After that lunch, I actually felt sick and it totally killed my appetite for eating meat again on that day so I cancelled the dinner. So overall I had to downgrade to 3 stars due to inconsistencies. I so dearly hope I'll have a good dining experience again in my next visit cos I do miss the experience on that 1st dinner. Next time I'll stick to ONLY what I had on that 1st dinner...
