Dylans on the Terrace — Restaurant in Western Australia

Went down to Albany for a 3 night stay and on our fist night came across Dylan's. We were seated promptly and given our menus, a few minutes later a waiter came over to get our drink order, i had the peach ice tea ( fizzy and delicious) and then decided on the steak with jacket potatoes and side salad with the mushroom sauce. Amazing food the steak was tender juicy and cooked to my liking. The mushroom sauce was all mushroom, no skimping, and the jacket potatoes were cooked perfectly, the side salad was a lovely addition. We also had dessert i had the hazelnut chocolate pie and it was unlike anything i had ever eaten, not too sweet and filled with chunky hazelnuts. One of the most delicious desserts i have ever eaten. We loved Dylans so much we stopped in to share a BLT and chips on our last day, again amazing the bacon was so flavourful and plenty. If you want to have fantastic food at reasonable prices Dylans is the place to go. When i make it back to Albany i will definitly be stopping in more...

The food was pretty standard but the service from the older lady with the blonde hair tied back was awful. When I first entered the restaurant, she was visibly annoyed and replied rudely when I told her if we can have a table, as if we disturbed her. Another staff told us we can have the table upstairs and before we went up, I just wanted to be kind and let her know we got a table, but she replied with disbelief "so.. you have a table RIGHT now?" I brought my grandparents and parents here, and they needed hot water for their medication, and she said they will charge us $1.5 per cup of hot water!!! Obviously we said nevermind, but we were really dissapointed. (We asked the other waitress why a cup of hot water was $1.5, and she said it was because we asked for too many cups of it, she was really kind and agreed we can have 1 cup for free). Sadly I never got to try the food due to extremely poor customer service. I was greeted by a rather unfriendly woman with short dark hair. Asked for a table for 2 (friend I was meeting was 5 minutes away), and was informed I could not be seated until my friend arrived. I was a little confused about that, and queried if there were tables available, and if I'd be waiting long. I was told yes, there were tables available, but I was refused one. I was the only person waiting. My name was taken down for, I quote, "IF your friend arrives", emphasis on the "if". Which really took me aback!
