Myer Carousel — Attraction in Cannington

When I was growing up "Myer was my store" . You could always find top brands and the service was always impeccable, and I always have come to Myer Carousel, loving tge cosmetic and parfums when they had the two stores operating, it was always a monthly treat to buy something from these counters. Having just popped in to get some shopping I Visited a well known cosmetic counter to purchase two items (lipstick and lip liner) which I love and wear alot. These items are over $100 at any given time so just 5 minutes of customer service is all I ask to receive. The consultant looked me up and down and proceded to ask if I was at the right counter. When I said I was and what I was looking for she immediately stated that both products were not on sale ( I had never even eluded to them being a sales item) before walking away and cozying up to the next lady who walked up to her counter. Speechless I stood there watching this consultant bring every item of cosmetic out for this lady to try before the lady turned to her and said "I was only looking this is right out of my price range and walked off. Meanwhile the consultant looked at me and turned to another consultant at another counter and said "can you serve this one, Im already running late for my lunch break" . I was shocked, not only did I know what I wanted and was able to hand over money for the goods I wanted but Id been completely disregarded and shunned by this consultant. Disgusting. I saved my temper from boiling over and walked away. David Jones City Store actually got my business for my items plus further purchases due to the brillant service and time taken by their consultant. $798 later I walked away from their counter as a happy customer. I had a very disappointing experience at Coles Myer Carousel today, I was shopping and went to pay for a few items, placing my $100 Coles Myer gift card on top of the clothing on the counter. After noticing that one of the dresses was dirty, I stepped away for a minute to find a replacement dress. When I returned, I discovered that the gift card was missing and had clearly been stolen. The customer service assistants didn’t offer to help find a replacement dress for me.

I immediately reported the issue to the cashier and manager. I checked my wallet, items, and surroundings in front of the lady at customer service, but the gift card was nowhere to be found. The manager reviewed the CCTV footage but claimed they could not see me placing the gift card on top of the clothing, even though I clearly remember doing so. Don, the manager, would not come to see me face-to-face and show me the CCTV footage as requested and showed no empathy when I called later in the day to follow up.

Even though the amount was not of high value, this gift card was important to me as it had been gifted to me by a single mother, and I felt deeply upset by its loss. I reported the theft to the police, as I believe theft of any kind should be taken seriously.

It’s incredibly frustrating to lose something of value and feel like the store isn’t taking the matter seriously. I would expect much better customer service and accountability from a company like Coles Myer.

Look, if I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered kids school shoes with a delivery time of 5 business days. At about 3 weeks of not receiving anything I contacted Australia post. The item was lost. I then contacted Myer. I told them I really needed the shoes for my children. They had my money could they please send more shoes express as they were kids school shoes that they desperately needed. I was then told an investigation into their courier needed to be done before I could have any resolution (there was no time period given) I asked them to send me new shoes or give me an immediate refund, I also attached the information from Australia post to say it was lost. It took them 3 weeks to finally come back to me to say they had confirmed the item lost, they can't send the shoes out and that I would eventually get a refund. 5 business days to give me my refund. This makes 7 weeks of giving Myer my money in which they then took ransom and wouldnt return it until they completed their own internal investigation into their poor choice of couriers. Terrible company policy, terrible service, I usually buy my skin care products and seed products from Myer instore. I will now no longer shop at Myer and order and buy direct from the businesses themselves. So disappointing. They did nothing to make up for the inconvenience and the ransom of my money.
