Hi there, I would like to express my disappointment with my visit to Gelare Carousel today, July 9th, around 4 PM. I ordered a small classic waffle with whipped cream and syrup for dine-in. While waiting, a waitress brought a plate with a big classic waffle to the table next to mine, and the customers informed her that they had ordered takeaway, not dine-in. A few minutes later, my buzzer rang, and when I went to pick up my order, the waitress handed me a big classic waffle. I told her that I had only ordered a small waffle, so she took half away and gave me the remaining portion.
However, when I took the first bite, I found the waffle was completely cold, and the whipped cream had already melted into it. It was clear that they didn’t make the waffle fresh for me but instead took the wrong order from the next table and pretended it was freshly made. I took the waffle back and mentioned that it was cold. The staff member claimed that I had already eaten half, which was completely untrue. She had a very bad attitude. My mum and I had only taken one bite each, and we both found it cold and soggy. After explaining this, she made me a fresh one.
After we finished the plate, another lady came to our table, apologised for serving cold waffles, and asked if we wanted another fresh, warm one. I told her about the bad attitude of the previous staff member and how she accused me of having eaten half of the waffle. I am unsure why this second lady came to check on us, but it seemed they felt guilty about what happened. I won’t be going back.
This complaint mainly concerns the fact that they initially served me a wrong order meant for another table and pretended it was freshly made.
Waffles were ok but I can surely go to other Gelare store for way better customer...
Read moreI have always been a gelare fan, and was excited to pop through here while I was in the area since there is no gelare near me. The service disappointed me on this occasion though, especially since I've walked away overcharged. I won't be able to return to this location now.
I asked for 2 scoops in a cup with my usual coffee, and was given individual scoops in separate cups. I quickly corrected the staff member serving me but said I was happy to take the 2 cups instead of dirtying another cup provided I was only charged for what I ordered. She said of course and all was fine, but the manager (I assume) came over and from what I heard, said she had to charge me for 2 single scoop cups. I tried to confirm again the mix up and was assured again I wasn't being charged more than necessary but still ended up paying for both cups. Since I had my baby with me I didn't want to argue and left.
Poor communication between staff though, either that or the manager was just money hungry. Disappointed for what was a fave...
Read moreDisgusting customer service at Gelare, Carousel. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD THERE. I have a child with special needs and we decided to take him out for a beautiful day of breakfast at gelare, and was unfortunately halted to a stop due to the customer service.
My child was clearly in a state of distress, crying, upset, needing that little bit of extra attention. I should also mention I’m also pregnant and in a lot of pain, it’s not easy dealing with his distress when I’m also in pain.
The lady serving the customers decided to come to our table, tell me that “I’m trying to serve customers and can’t hear, you need to quiet him down”.
instead of the friendly customer service of checking in to make sure that everything was okay, we were told to basically be quiet.
We felt so uncomfortable by this that we decided to refund our whole order and leave.
Safe to say I will not be coming back and will not be supporting this kind of behaviour from a “family...
