Mrs Herbert's Park — Attraction in Claremont

Gorgeous. Small carpark with zigzag path down relatively steep slope, past toilets. Suitable for wheelchairs and mobility walkers if control can be maintained down slope and if you can get back up again. It looked like there may be a public driveway to beach level at the end of Watkins Rd but no path just grass. Whole park is nicely grassed right to the 2m wide sandy white beach (path stops once slope does). My wobbly-on-her-feet Mum loved dipping her toes in the river with miminal support from us. Not sure if there were benches to sit on. We took our own chairs. It was very busy today, a warm Sunday with just a light breeze. Trees give good shade. Carpark was full. Overlooking Freshwater Bay, this park is beautiful! Soft green grass, play area for children, easy access to the waters edge and is peaceful. Dogs allowed on leash. I couldn't give 5 stars as the public toilets are atrocious! Considering the suburb that this park is situated in, I expected a lot better!! The disability toilet can be accessed over the wall from the ladies offering no privacy and no lock on the door!! Very old...
