Tandoori Flames Classic Indian Restaurant in Claremont — Restaurant in Western Australia

We ordered takeaway and they noted it would be ready anytime from 5:30 onwards. I got there 5:40pm and the guy at the till said he’d check on the food, but instead of doing that he proceeds to serve everyone else in the restaurant first. It was takeaway so I thought he could just straight away pass it to me, but anyway, after serving everyone else he went into the kitchen and came out 5 mins later with a ‘it’ll be ready in 5 mins’. This was now 5:50pm. I responded ‘okay but I thought it was supposed to be ready at 5:30pm?’ Again his response was ‘it’ll be ready in 5 mins’ but this time with more attitude than the first. I wouldn’t have left this review if he’d just said ‘sorry the kitchen is running behind, it’ll be 5 mins.’ A sorry is all it takes, but instead I was just served with attitude. 4 of us had the most delightful Sunday lunch at Tandoori Flame today! We ordered a lamb shank curry which was a spicy delectable favourite! a beautifully roasted moist slightly charred boneless tandoori chicken tikka served on a sizzling hot plate, a recommended slightly crispy yet soft eggplant cheese entree, creamy dhal tadka and plain naan and saffron rice. All dishes were freshly cooked and beautifully presented. Our food was brought with a sweet smile by the young lady! Naan had the right amount of slightly charred bubbles n not totally burnt … exactly how I like it! Tandoori Flame has had a little facelift! Nice comfy chairs & a beautifully presented book bound menu! I can taste and sense a new Chef at the helm as we are regular takeouts n occasional diners and we will now definitely be back for more!!! We have gone here a few times and normally find the food ok. Given this I tried contacting the restaurant by email before making a negative review, but they never replied which is why I have now rated low. We ordered lamb rogan josh which was appalling! For the price of $23 we were shocked to find the dish was 70% bones, it would be ok if there was meat on the bones, but they were just bones in sauce! I would have preferred to be contacted and change our order if they ran out of lamb for the dish. We were lucky we ordered a second dish, otherwise we would have had to make another meal.

EDIT: I have since received assistance and apologies from the restaurant who seemed genuinely upset at our dining experience and so I have edited my rating. Thanks very much for your understanding...
