iFLY Gold Coast — Attraction in Gold Coast City

I'm from New Zealand & am currently on holiday here on the Gold Coast. I have previously visited the Gold Coast so have already experienced a lot of the tourist attractions on offer here. I was looking for something completely different to try. I called into I Fly yesterday & was greeted with outstanding service. I was able to go through & view the session that was currently taking place & was lucky enough to view a high fly experience. After seeing the session that was taking place I knew that was something I wanted to have a go at so I made a booking for today. I arrived early so I was put in an earlier session. Alberto (Alby) was the instructor for my session. He was absolutely brilliant. A great instructor. Once kitted out in our flight suit, goggles, helmet & ear plugs (it's very loud in the wind tunnel hence the need for ear plugs) we went into the training room & watched an instructional video. Alberto then went through all we needed to know demonstrating everything so we understood what we needed to do & asked us if we were ready to fly. Once in the wind tunnel I waited til it was my turn to fly. What an amazing experience. I had 2 flights approximately 1 min long per flight. (I selected the I Fly Basic package) There were several options to choose from. Alberto did a great job of assisting me once in the wind tunnel & helping me get the most out of the experience. When it came to my 2nd flight he asked me if I would like to do a high fly. I gave him the thumbs up. That was one of the coolest things I have ever done. So exhilarating. A feeling like no other. I couldn't stop smiling. Lastly Alberto got to show us his phenomenal skills & tricks with an amazing performance in the wind tunnel. Very impressive indeed. After my time in the wind tunnel it was time to view my photos & video. Lots of photos were taken throughout your time in the wind tunnel. I selected all photos & video for $25. I also purchased a hoodie. Alberto kindly offered to take my photo next to the wind tunnel & also beside the sign with angel wings as I was by myself. He was also happy 2 take a selfie with me. He certainly went the extra mile. The staff were briliant. So friendly & more than happy to make the sure that you have an experience of a lifetime & one that you will always remember. Very disappointed! I paid $99 for our grandchildren 4 tickets so $396.00. And then our son bought one as well for $99 so 5 flights in all. $495.00 total. When we got there they are advertising 'was $99 now $69'. I can handle that, I bought the tickets back in January so I missed the 'special' Then while the children were waiting and watching the sessions before them they were very excited to see how it all worked. When their session came around they were told they wouldn't be doing the fly up high as the previous sessions were doing as the instructor wasn't qualified to do that part with them, the part they were so looking forward to! When I complained, and normally I don't worry about that sort of thing, I was told that we had to pay an extra $10.00 for that part of the experience. This was not explained when I phoned up to book the flights, I didn't book on line I rang and spoke to them and booked over the phone. I would have paid $10 extra had that been explained to me. Basically buyer beware!!! The kids loved it but we really were ripped off in every way. They compensated by giving us a USB to watch the experience. They say this was valued at $75. Look further into it, I have now, when it is too late! and we could have got a family friends pass for $440 which gives you 10 flights, so for 5 people and you get to take home the video of your flights. Make sure you know what you are getting and don't be disappointed...

I wish I could say that I had a good time, but this is far from the case

I am a learner and have no experience at all, i booked a session, the staff didn’t tell us what time the session would be, so we waited more than 50 minutes before we went up to reception, my instructor Joshua came out from the back and the receptionist told him that I am a learner and he said “damn it”. At first I thought this was a joke, but this was far from the case.

The receptionist told us that the session is at 5:30 and I will be gearing at 5. 5:20 rolled around, I’m still waiting and finally the instructor came out and took me to the training room, all was well at this point. When I was putting on my suit, I needed help and the instructor said “jesus, really”, this already spoiled the fun out of the day. I went into my first flight and halfway through the flight he took me out and shouted at me because I wasn’t doing it correctly (I have it on camera), after the 2nd flight he made a nasty comment that my core strength is that of an old women. This really made me upset and this really spoiled my day.

I do not recommend this if you are just a learner, as this facility doesn’t have the decency to treat people like human beings
