My husband and i visited Surfcity church 9.30 am service on this past fathers day. We were visiting from North Victoria and were excited to come to your church. This was our experience.... We genuinely hope these comments are helpful to you. Firstly - Shane Willards message was exceptional! We were glad we persevered our first impressions and wait for this message. . Because of limited display or welcome at the front door we wondered if we had arrived at the correct place . There was knowone there to welcome you in at the front door ... a very flat experience . Hence we looked around the foyer and still wondered if we were at the right place On the next level there was also no signage to the auditorium... we didnt feel welcome yet... . The sign on the auditorium door was hard to see.... it was so dark and cavelike once again knowone at the door with a friendly smile .it was only when we got to the top of the steps in the dark that 2 young women said hi...it was pitch black and after peering around we went back to the girls to ask where we should sit (there were pamphlets on the seats) we thought they were reserved seats. We were shown where we could sit. And enjoyed the worship. The MC was excellent. Modern Church is not a new experience for us.... we attend a very contempory church and we love it. We were not approached by anyone after the service... not one...we are very friendly people. Overall there was a disappointing lack of hospitality experienced and an obvious sense that the visitor or new convert are the ones expected to reach out to you and 'do it yourself' or miss out, a culture evident in by the language on your welcome cards also. You may not even be aware of this impression. WWJD - Jesus was both friendly and practiced the power of hospitality winning souls in the process. He Outward focused we are his hands and feet. This is feedback. I hope is received and not dismissed as a 'rant' because It's not .... our passion is for the lost, the lonely and the body ...we must reach out to the world. Thankyou and...
Read moreWhen we travel we always look for a local Pentecostal church so that we don’t need to miss a word from God. We were blessed to find Presence Church was only 3 minutes from where we are staying. We were welcomed at the front doors and further up the stairs another lovely lady gave us a welcome and a big smile. The worship was lovely and the word was on point! There were a few things I loved that made it really personal such as celebrating birthdays and anniversaries at the start of the sermon and we were honoured to have been able to be part of baptisms today. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because no one other than the front door greeters acknowledged us but that could be my high standards. When I see someone new at our church I always give them a smile and a hello because you never know who is about to make your church...
Read moreSurf city (now presence church) church is a very modern church. Contemporary is worship and causal in apparel. We were greeted by a nice elderly lady that asked not too many prodding questions even though we said, “we are not from this country”. Throughout the worship, announcements, and even in the preaching the focus was not on Gods absolute Word, but experiences. Even when a Strongs concordance was referenced in the “message”, still no form of hermeneutics was applied. The church is committed to the Spirit and gifts, not on the veracity of Scripture. The church boasted in healings and seeing God, but never referenced witnessing, and winning others to Jesus. If you are looking for experiential worship, this is the place. If you want a church that is committed to rightly dividing the Word of God, this is not the...
