Avoid, This place tries to deliver content way too quickly, saying "The southern Cross Model" its great! it's 6 week terms, meaning anything technical like say Physics, or Calculus is delivered way too quickly, I have not heard ONE student, praise this model, it's just a way for this "university" to double its money, paying teachers for half the time to deliver the same content. While doubling the students they can take in per year.. We had one unit where they literally delivered Differential calculus in ONE WEEK then Integral calculus the next and expected us to face examinations. Now think to yourself, would you want to learn differential calculus in week? And if so consider your level after "learning" it would it be good? Deep, thorough? Now, on the other hand, could you deliver in a week a calculus course in a comprehensive way where students have a strong basis of knowledge in it? Of course not! The place is actual a joke. The university told students this year its Engineering course is "accredited" in the unit, but it is NOT accredited with Engineers Australia as "provisional accreditation" is not accredited meaning you have to get yourself accredited after graduation. Quite the false claim. On campus study is 50% online, where a weeks worth of material is glazed over in an hour or less, and a 2 hour workshop once a week also meaning your face-to-face study time and lesson time is HALF that of a regular uni. Now, if you want a worthless education and an unaccredited even more worthless piece of paper after then check this place out! However if you actually want to learn the tings you are studying (and paying 1000 a unit for) , avoid this university...
Read moreStudent support is very poor in this university, although teachers are good. I didn't get any help from the university while studying online. The university ignored every email. Whenever I get trouble or had a problem understanding any things, I used to email the university every time, and I got ignored every time. After arriving here in Australia, I tried to change my education provider they requested me to apply for a release letter. I did the same as what they told me. Providing every proof that I got ignored from the University I apply for a release letter, but they rejected it, saying my supporting documents are fake?? Immediately They scheduled a zoom meeting, and my first question was how my supporting documents are duplicated? Then after they try to make a story saying to give release, we have to send all this to immigration, and they will look after that, which will affect our grading...... They ask me to request Coe from my new education provider and apply for course withdrawal. I did the same according to what they told me; I applied for course withdrawal and they approve my course withdrawal. Then after I apply for a refund, they declined my application, saying I needed to have a release letter to get a refund. Well played, SCU. Don't do the same with other students. Better focus on student...
Read moreI am writing to express deep concern regarding the pattern of neglect, miscommunication, and what I believe to be deliberate financial exploitation I have experienced as a student at SCU. Despite making multiple attempts to seek help on urgent matters relating to Online Course, Information, Placement support, etc. I received only generic, unhelpful replies that did not address my actual questions. In most of the cases, I received no response at all. This behavior has made it nearly impossible to resolve important issues that directly affect my academic standing and financial situation. Even more troubling is the recurring pattern I and others have experienced: students are being set up to fail either through lack of guidance, miscommunication, or intentional obstruction only to then be charged additional fees to continue or repeat coursework. This is not just negligence; it feels exploitative. Lack of response and accountability is unacceptable.
I am now considering bringing this matter to the attention of the university ombudsman and, if necessary, to external oversight bodies. The failure to address student concerns is not just disappointing it’s a breach of trust that affects student mental health, academic standing, and...
