Stayed on the 4th floor of this apartment complex, nice view of Kirra Beach and easy walking path to different beaches and restaurants. Security is obviously a priority for this place as you need a key to get into the lobby, then to get into the elevator and another key swipe to get to your room, and again to get out of your room. Once you go through the motions it isn't so bad. Parking garage required going through two gates as well. Make sure you drive over the sensor when trying to leave otherwise gate won't open. We had a large vehicle that couldn't make the tight turn required to activate it, so had to get out to open the gate. The unit we stayed in was nice and clean. Could have used a few more common things like more towels for a family of 4. Only 2 washcloths for 4 people, no extras towels anywhere. In the kitchen it would have been nice to have dish soap, and not just dishwasher soap, but minor oversight perhaps. This apartment complex is on a busy/noisy street, for us this place was too loud to enjoy sitting outside or even keeping the sliding door open, traffic noise takes away from enjoying the view. Perhaps higher up would be less noisy?? Also, not sure if its the time of year, but the midges (or noseeums??) were biting when sitting outside, so put bug spray on. All in all a nice place to stay and the surf options (one of the main reason for staying here) for my daughters were convenient available via a short walk. If you don't mind the hustle and bustle of city traffic I wouldn't hesitate...
Read moreWe stayed for eight nights in this apartment building during the off-peak season and greatly enjoyed both the apartment and the location.||The modern 11-level complex overlooks Kirra Beach, with views of all beaches north through to Surfers Paradise. It is located just around the point from Coolangatta, which has and excellent range of restaurants and bars. Kirra Beach itself has a selection of restaurants (mainly for breakfast/lunch), but not as extensive as Coolangatta.||We hired a sub-penthouse on the 10th floor. The apartment is apparently privately owned but is leased out when not required by the owners.||The apartment itself is modern, clean and well-equipped with kitchen, two good sized bedrooms (one with en-suite and the other with access to a bathroom), a dining area and lounge/living area. A covered balcony provides excellent beach/coast views.||The elevator opens directly into the apartment. Underground parking for one car. There is an outdoor pool and bbq area. Good building security.||Reasonably priced (we had off-season rates) for the location. ||We would recommend Pure Kirra for those who like easy access to walks along the beach (with safe patrolled beaches), access to leisurely coffee/breakfast nearby and a good location from which to explore all that the Gold Coast and its hinterland...
Read moreI'm torn about this place, the good stuff: Peter was very accommodating and was always available, views were lovely great location apartment was spotlessly clean the apartment was well stocked with most items you need for basic cooking. The not so good stuff: I would not stay at this place with younger children, the elevator opens directly into the apartment, so if you have adventurous children who like pressing buttons they could end up on the ground floor, so we had to put a couple of chairs in front of the elevator so we didn't have to watch them 24/7. We stayed in apartment 301 and it had two fire exits directly from the apartment once again with adventurous children they could end up in the fire escape and not be able to get back in the apartment. So we put little tables in front of those exits. This is just the design of the building not much can be done and other rooms might be different. On one occasion the lift stopped and people who didn't have access to our room could access our apartment. This was a little disconcerting, but Peter assured me this was an anomaly with the lift. So I never quite felt relaxed there. Would I stay here again, yes but not with small children who are tall enough to press a lift button or...
