Went here for my birthday last night and it was a disaster from the start. Had a booking at 7pm, but had to wait for 20mins for our table and told to stand on the street until our “reserved” table became free. We waited for 15mins to be asked if wanted to order a drink and food. We ordered entree’s and drinks and planned to order mains later. Drinks were ok, food was terribly overcooked (Calamari and Chicken strips). We asked the waitress for more sauces because the food was so dry and she was very rude and threw the sauces on our table. Wife and I had jalapeño poppers and fish taco which were nice. After entree we waited 15mins for our table to be cleared only after we asked the waitress! We then ordered another round of drinks and mains. After 25mins of waiting we asked the waitress where our drinks were. Her response was they are busy and it takes a long as it takes. I asked to her follow up with the barman which she totally ignored me and served another table. After getting the attention of another waitress she said they are very busy and our drinks would be coming soon(don’t know how she new this because she didn’t even check with the bar). We were totally put off by the poor service to a point were we paid for what we ate and drank and walked out (never ever done this). Horrible birthday experience with my family. The manager/owner apologised and blamed that she could get enough staff. Maybe effort should be spend on adequately training the staff they have. Can’t comment on the main meals because we...
Read moreWent for lunch on the weekend after reading some good reviews about this place so was keen to try it. The service was friendly upon entering, I made a booking so this was quite seamless. The customer service was great from ordering to receiving our food! The wait time wasn’t too long as we were the only ones at the restaurant as it had just opened for lunch.
I tried the tacos (prawn, Baja fish, crispy chicken) ordered corn chips to share and got some kids meals. Husband ordered the same as me and added a beef burrito into the mix.
Anyway ..LET ME TELL YOU 🤤damn the food was delicious! The tortilla chips were the perfect crunch - the salsa, sour cream and guac was blended perfectly into the middle of the plate to get the full effect. The chicken tacos had a peppery taste and a sauce that was a bit unusual to me but husband LOVED it. The Prawn taco, oh wow yes a little kick to it and so tasty! But my favorite was the Baja Fish. I will literally order all Fish next time (maybe prawns) because YUM, excellent.
I also tried the coconut Marg and was pleasantly surprised that it tasted like a Pina colada (creamy coconut). I’m assuming the fusion of Hawaii/Mexican influence means the concoction of cocktails are quite bougie 💁🏽♀️overall the price point was well worth it for the quality of the food. I WILL RETURN and bring more...
Read moreSo we felt like some Margaritas and a quick Google Search revealed that were at least 6, (yes 6 ) Mexican restaurants and bars in the area. We tried 3. Two were your standard franchise type of restaurants with the usual meals (aka taco Bills). This one was the best. We went on Tuesday (twice) Burrito Night, where all Burritos were $10. Bargain. Fish Burrito sensational. Chicken Burrito very good. Happy Hour was b/w 3-5 but as far as i could tell not Margaritas. :( Also though the Margaritas were very good they were a little pricey at $16 a pop. But i loved how you could order a "long neck" (or a Tallie as they call it in Queensland?)of VB presented to your table in a paper bag including the twisted paper around the top. I loved it! Also we enjoyed their music playlist (Talking Heads, Pixies, Tom Tom Club) and at the end of the night the woman who ran (owned?) the place came over to our table and chatted to us about about music amongst other things. It was nice. One thing i need to mention is although the atmosphere was interesting and cool , i recommend you take your phone. Not to be antisocial and read your social media feeds, but to use the torch so you can read the...
