Enjoyable and informative cruise around the lakes. Not the first time we have taken this cruise. Last time was 15 years ago and glad we came back. "The Lonsdale" is not the newest, fastest or most flashy boat on the lakes but it is comfortable and provides good viewing and seating options for all. The tour takes you to the important locations around the lakes and, in our case, two visits to the entrance to allow viewing of different aspects of the lakes system. Commentary from Captain Tony was continuous through the cruise and provided massive background information on the lakes in general (both current and historical), the settlements around the lake, the geography of the lakes and wider Gippsland area, and the marine and birdlife, including their migratory habits. Mel looked after the patrons onboard and was always busy around the boat, making the trip a smooth one, along with indulging her photographic hobby. She was also responsible for making the delicious scones that were offered to everyone (including gluten free if you let her know beforehand). Self serve tea and coffee available throughout the trip (plus some bickies). People can take their own choice of food and drinks onboard, with some taking wine and champagne. Great way to spend three hours on the lakes. Probably a good idea to book ahead on public holidays and school holidays. Doesn't operate on Wednesdays...

What a wonderful way to spend a few hours on our recent trip to Lakes Entrance. Tony and Mel went above and beyond to ensure everyone on board the Lonsdale had a great time on our 3 hour cruise on the Gippsland Lakes. They showcased the area to leave us all with lasting memories. A wealth of knowledge of the area and providing a detailed commentary, Skipper Tony took us on a wonderful journey of the lakes and we were lucky enough to see seals, dolphins, wildlife and birdlife. Tony's patience in ensuring that all on board saw as much as possible coupled with his obvious respect for the protected wildlife was evident. If all that was not enough, we were treated to Mel's delicious fresh scones with jam and cream that we could smell as they baked in the galley on board as we sailed as well as complimentary tea and coffee. Mel chatted with us and answered our questions and her enthusiasm and passion was contagious. I would highly recommend Lonsdale Eco cruises to anyone...

We went on the Lonsdale Eco Cruise as part of a family holiday for my Dad's birthday. What a delightful journey. We called ahead and spoke to Mel, who was very accommodating and said we could arrive and pay on the day for our group of 8. I was pleasantly surprised to see a sign at the ticket booth that they offer gluten free scones, which was super exciting for us as half of our group are coeliac, so mentioned as we were paying and absolutely no problem for them to accommodate. We sat on the top deck and had a magnificent view of the water. The captain shared lots of knowledge of each part of the journey, including history of the area and local landmarks. Mel's scones were fabulous! The gluten free scones with jam and cream were delicious! Our birthday boy got a larger serving and enjoyed his morsel very much. Mel came up to have a chat with us, a very friendly person. I highly recommend taking this site seeing cruise if you're in the area, an...

We went on the eco cruise on Monday the 20th Dec and all I can say is it was AMAZING!!! ( To the person who put a bad review because the cruise was cancelled on Sunday the 19th ...SHAME ON YOU!! ๐ŸคจThe weather was absolutely atrocious.. Thunder/ lighting plus strong winds. SAFETY always comes before your pleasure thank you!! Tony and Mel made the right decision. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป) Tony provided ample information on the cruise and the kids absolutely loved how informative it was. And Mel made the tastiest lemonade scones I have tasted in a very long time!! The cruise was smooth thanks to Tonyโ€™s expertise and the cruise was not packed with people as are the Peel cruises. I would definitely recommend Lonsdale Eco Cruises if you are in Lakes Entrance. Make sure to book and Enjoy ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š Until our next trip Tony and Mel muchly appreciated ๐Ÿ’•
