The Peels Cruise to Metung was the highlight of a four day week-end to Lakes Entrance. The 4 hour return trip leaves from the main dock and cruises along Lake King, past 'The Entrance' and on to Metung, a gorgeous seaside village only a 15 minute drive away from Lakes Entrance. Along the way the scenery is beautiful with lots of bird life and we were lucky to have a family of dolphins visit. We also saw a pair of Sea Eagles near their nest in the trees. We docked at Metung and moved straight to the Metung Hotel, which sits overlooking Bancroft Bay in a prized position. A two course lunch was included in the cruise price and the meal and service was very good. After lunch cruise-goers are given an hour to wander around Metung village where there are several shops and cafes worth a visit. I was interested to check out the newly opened Metung Hot Springs but on our walk didn't come across it. I figure it must be located away from the village somewhere. The cruise back to Lakes Entrance is very enjoyable with plenty of bird life on show. The Peels Cruiser boat was very comfortable with inside/outside areas and was equipped with a bar and toilets and the cruise itself was very smooth with little boat movement. I'd give it 5 stars but one of the boat's outside speakers wasn't working so it was impossible to hear the captain's commentary unless one stayed inside the cabin area. Great cruise...well worth...
Read moreIf you're looking for a relaxing and informative way to explore the Gippsland Lakes, look no further than Peels Cruises! The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience is simply wonderful.
From the moment we stepped on board, we were greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel right at home. The staff took the time to explain everything to us and answer any questions we had, and their passion for the area was truly infectious.
The cruise itself was absolutely stunning. We were able to see all kinds of wildlife and natural beauty, and the staff provided fascinating information about the history and ecology of the area. We even got to see some dolphins up close, which was truly magical.
But what really made the experience stand out was the friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were always on hand to answer questions and provide information, and their enthusiasm for the area was truly infectious. They went above and beyond to make sure that everyone on board was comfortable and having a great time.
Overall, I can't recommend Peels Cruises enough. If you're looking for a relaxing and informative way to explore the Gippsland Lakes, this is definitely the way to go. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the views are stunning, and the whole experience is simply wonderful. Five...
Read moreOn Friday 16/10/15 hubby, the 2 kids (nearly 2 and 4mths) and I, popped by the peels kiosk to get information, considering a cruise for that day or the next. We stood at the window for about 5 minutes looking at the many cruises while the guy ignored us, he said absolutely nothing. After deciding on the cruise I spoke to the guy. I was very concerned about taking my toddler on a cruise, wanting something secure and toddler friendly (not trying to stop her squeezing through every gap). When I asked him about this I was made to feel like an idiot "we have been operating for 25 years, blah blah blah". Just totally rude, I expected friendly, hospitable service that I had experienced everywhere else in lakes entrance, instead I was met with with indifference. I just wanted to know if it was suitable for little kids. I was told I could go have a look at the boat if I wanted. It was just a very unsettling experience I decided to wander down the road and booked a different cruise with a wonderful lady who clearly knew what kids are like and was the friendly person I was hoping for. So I would not recommend them to anyone after a friendly/hospitable cruise. I think perhaps this man may need reminding you are running a business, not a police station, ppl will go elsewhere if they don't get...
