Read moreI love Chelsea Beach and I go to this beach at least handful times during summer.
When I visited Chelsea last week though, it was not a good experience. The traffic around the beach became really bad as everyone wanted a free spot and a lot of cars parked illegally which made congestion worse.
My solution was to park the car at the station as there are so many spots and it’s free! It was so nice to park the car safely. Only downside was to walk from the station to the beach which took approximately 10minutes with kids and all the stuff that I carried. If you visit Chelsea during the week, it is nice and easy but it is not free to park at the beach parking just like many others.
The beach is still beautiful but because of such large crowd visiting at the same time on the weekends, it was crazy to use toilet, playground, BBQ, picnic table or to find a nice spot on the beach - literally 10-20minute waiting to use the toilet on busy and sunny weekends.
I still loved the playground and BBQ as we were lucky to secure BBQ and cooked our food and kids had a chance to play in the large and cute beach playground. And the beach is so shallow and kids played all day with sand and water as well as gentle ocean waves.
I still go to Chelsea beach as there are nice restaurants, cafe, ice cream shop and woolies. With BBQ, shower, a really nice playground and shallow beach, I would rather come on less busy days...
Read moreStumbled across this beach as I was looking for beaches along the frankston line. It's a really long beach with white sand. Looks beautiful with the blue water. The beach is located at a decent distance from station as well. Would have been good of there were couple of food joints around the beach as the only food truck that's there near to the beach has only ice cream and terrible coffee. The water is really nice and there are couple of puddles on the beach formed by the sea waves which are absolutely a delight for a lazy swimming around. The beach is pretty safe for the little kids as well with the puddles formed here and there. You can take a long walk along the shoreline and relax. Definitely a beach worth visiting. Only problem being the sparse car park and you have to reach early or be lucky to grab a spot. The beach has shower areas, park for kids...
