The Indian Hut -Indian and Nepalese Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

Placed a pick up order for 7 pm and got a text saying it would be ready by 635 got there at 6:30 and had to wait another 15 minutes to pick it up. Once I got home I realised the samosas and papadums were missing so we called up to see if they could be delivered And they told us the samosas were nearly ready and if we want it delivered it’s an extra five dollars, even though they left it out of our order. I was not told at the restaurant that the samosas weren’t ready and I’d have to wait and trying to charge for delivery when they forgot them is not on. I asked them to please check that we couldn’t have the samosas and poppadoms delivered because it was no fault of our own and the lady on the phone went and checked and when she came back, she hung up on me. I don’t know whether it was an accident or not, but truly disappointing Service will not be...

I have to say I've been here many times but the last 3 times the quality of food and service has seriously decreased. The atmosphere is either completely quiet (like literally no-one in the restaurant on a Friday or Saturday night) or so loud you can't hear the person opposite you.

The most recent time, it took 1 hour for 1 entree to be cooked (we were one of two tables), another 30 minutes for mains. When the mains arrived they were cold and tasteless - we went to add salt to our food to find it was sugar!! The staff didn't understand or care about our concerns, simply reheating our food in the microwave!! (come on, use an oven, you're a kitchen) and handing us salt (not to mention our food was ruined with sugar) and still charged us full price.

We sadly won't be returning and we will be telling everyone...

Unfortunately this was the first time ordering from this restaurant. Ordered the butter chicken. It was heavily tomato based, very spicy (hot), pretty sure a mix of chicken and another pulled meat…all I can say it didn’t taste like butter chicken at all. Thought it came with rice as I couldn’t find rice to order and it didn’t say whether or not it did come with the sauce and meat. It was $50 later on two butter chicken and two naan.
