Four Seas — Restaurant in Melbourne

Previously I left a great review but tonight was very disappointing. Service was appalling.

We waited 1/2 hour before our orders were taken. We then waited another at least over 20 minutes before even prawn crackers were delivered to our table upon my request. No plates to be seen until I had to ask. Both the entree and main courses were given to us again without any plates allowing the meal to go cold. Finally four plates were dumped in front of me even though there were six patrons hence I had to ask the waitress for additional plates. Two further plates were dumped in front of me. The waitress could not even be bothered to give the two patrons plates. It was assumed it was my job to distribute the plates on both occasions. Unbelievable!

I have been a regular at this restaurant for many years and have previously left a glowing review. I was embarrassed by the attitude of the service as we bought friends who had never frequented this restaurant. I went with my little daughter to this place as the table setting looked good. I ordered the food while drinking a coke. The first bite was terrible, old and not even edible; neither of us could go past the first mouthful. I excused myself quietly, telling the lady about the issue; she made a scene and called the chef out while yelling at me. My 7 year old daughter was scared and started crying; the lady kept hurling abuse at me. A booking for 13 was made for 6pm and we were the first people to arrive. The restaurant filled up after we had placed our orders but our table received our food LAST - ONE AND A HALF HOURS LATER!!!! Several times we asked why we were not getting our meals and were told “It’s a big order” We should have got our food first since we placed our orders first, but the owner obviously didn’t value our custom and decided that we had to wait till the rest of the customers got theirs first.
