A Taste of Peru in the Heart of Melbourne
The Inti Gourmet restaurant (or just "Inti") offers a truly immersive dining experience, transporting you straight to the heart of Peru from the moment you step inside. The atmosphere is a standout feature, meticulously crafted with authentic Peruvian pictures and artefacts. This attention to detail creates an extraordinary ambiance, a genuine sense of being whisked away to another culture.
The food at Inti Gourmet resonates with a heartwarming, home-made quality. Each dish tastes as though it has been prepared with genuine care and traditional techniques. The ceviche is a testament to this, clearly executed with passion and a dedication to authentic flavours. The fresh seafood and vibrant citrus marinade combine to create a truly memorable and authentic Peruvian experience.
The lomo saltado is another highlight, showcasing perfectly tender beef, cooked to perfection. The meat is seared beautifully, achieving a delightful balance of texture and flavour from the exterior to the interior. The dish is a testament to the chef's skill and understanding of Peruvian cuisine.
While the food largely excels, there's a slight room for improvement with the pisco sour. This classic Peruvian cocktail, notoriously difficult to perfect, could benefit from a bit more finesse in its preparation. However, the effort is certainly there, and the drink remains a pleasant accompaniment to the meal.
The service at Inti is generally amicable and welcoming. The staff are friendly and eager to assist, contributing to the overall positive dining experience. However, there's an opportunity to enhance the service by acknowledging and building rapport with recurrent customers. A simple recognition or a personalized touch could elevate the experience from good to exceptional.
In conclusion, Inti provides an authentic and enjoyable culinary journey. The immersive atmosphere, coupled with the delicious, home-style food, makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Peru in Melbourne. While the pisco sour and service could benefit from minor improvements, the overall experience is highly commendable. If you're looking for a restaurant that delivers on both flavour and atmosphere, Inti is a worthy...
Read moreHonestly, if I could give zero stars that would be it. I had three South Americanâs visiting me and they told me Peruvian food was the best South American food to have. So I thought weâd give it a go. We had ordered pisco sours which is a classic Chilean cocktail. Im not sure you could call what we got âthatâ they were very weak, in fact Iâm not sure if there was any alcohol at all. From there, We ordered the ceviche to start and it was down hill on a high speed train from there. I know ceviche is raw fish, but this ceviche was SO fishy it was hard to eat. Did not taste fresh/light at all. Not too mention the cuts were giant! Iâm talking 1â X 1â. Our table originally all ordered the same meal, and shortly after our order was placed the (Iâm assuming) owner came out and asked us if weâre sure about all ordering the same thing. I asked for her recommendations and she encouraged us to try the pork belly, and fillet pasta. WOW! what a disappointment. The dishes came out and the plates looked as unappetising as they actually tasted. It was inedible! The pork belly was deep fried, and drier then the cinnamon challenge. We expressed our disappointment to the waiter and asked for a solution and she told us that there was nothing they could do because thatâs what we ordered. I wouldnât feed this food to my dog. The fillet pastaâŠ. How do I say it, think undercooked Kraft Dinner macaroni with a leather boot. Iâm not over exaggerating. This food was so disappointingly awful, they should be stripped of the name âgourmet fine Peruvian foodâ. The only dish that was edible (I personally really liked) but I was told by the South Americanâs wasnât very great was the Aji de gallina. This review would have been very different because that was the dish originally ordered. Lastly, everything we got was extremely overpriced for what was delivered. Do yourself a favour, avoid,...
Read moreGiving 1 Star because the food was good....slightly overpriced but I wouldnât mind paying a bit extra if the service would be better......Customer service 0 Stars. Took them 1 hour 10 minutes to bring my dish (apparently they made a mistake but no one told me until I complained about it after all My friends ate their dishes.... when I had to pay.....not even a discount or apologize). We notice that the woman was rude from the beginning: my brother had the drinks menu in his hands thinking for another options and she was literally pulling the menu from his hands, after that my partner wanted to order some chips to start (his main was âaji de gallinaâ) and she looked at him like âwhy would you do thatâ and a very sarcastic laugh (he felt really uncomfortable and decided to not to order that). Another friend wanted to order ceviche and she was a bit scared to do it because of the unexpected reactions of this person.
The guys working there were nice, is just the lady the one that needs to improve her attitude cus the way she treated us was really rude. I worked in hospitality before and you donât do that to your customers, you shouldnât treat your customers in a way to make them feel uncomfortable, scared or starving haha. I think the good reviews of this place are rated by people feeling homesick and missing Peruvian food....but not for the customer...
