Dr. Terence Heng is one of the rarest and best GPs one can find.
I started seeing him from early 2017 after someone I know recommended him.
Dr. Heng took the time to understand my long medical history through a series of long appointments.
I was very pleasantly surprised when Dr. Heng not only did not mind taking the time for me, but also was keen on reading the medical letters from my past medical history and listened to me and trusted me as I clarified some of the errors in those letters.
It takes me about 40 minute taxi journey (each way) to his clinics, but it is well worth the time.
Due to some of my chronic illnesses and problems with falling asleep at odd times, there have been several times when I had either turned up late or if too unwell have had to reschedule on the day. I feel terrible for this and I apologise for this eventhough Dr. Heng is very accommodating and understanding.
I teared up when he said something to the effect: "If you are not feeling well and feel like you need to rest at home, the last thing I want for you is to travel here and get more exhausted".
Dr. Heng also knows the right kind of specialists and allied health practitioners to whom he refers his patients.
It is the trust Dr. Heng places in me, the time he takes for me, his compassion and kindness towards me, that I value the most. Dr. Heng is obviously highly skilled and very thorough -- that is an obvious fact which I do not even have...
Read moreI went to see Dr. Hogan Chen today with my son for his cough. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with our visit and felt compelled to share my experience. When we arrived, I informed Dr. Chen that my son had seen another doctor at Vermont Clinic last week and his cough had worsened since then. However, without examining my son, Dr. Chen immediately suggested we return to the previous doctor. When I explained that wasn't possible due to that doctor being booked out, Dr. Chen made an insensitive analogy comparing choosing doctors to choosing hairdressers. He said, 'Wouldn't you want the same hairdresser every time?' This comparison felt entirely inappropriate given the seriousness of my son's health concerns. Unlike choosing a hairdresser for consistency, medical care should prioritize receiving proper treatment from any qualified healthcare provider. I was also taken aback by Dr. Chen's lack of empathy and professionalism in handling our situation. Later, my 6-year-old son asked me in the car why the doctor was so mean and didn't want to treat him. How should I respond to him? My children have been patients at both Vermont and Nunawading clinics for years, and today's appointment was a letdown in terms of the care provided by Dr. Hogan Chen. As a parent seeking medical help for my child, I expected better treatment and consideration from a healthcare professional. I hope this review is taken seriously by the...
Read moreI have been a patient of Nunawading Clinic for several years now, I had to make an appointment today, so at short notice I couldn’t see my regular GP but the always helpful reception staff made an appointment for me with one of the other members of staff on duty. I saw a Dr Christine who was very helpful and professional and answered all my questions and gave me a path to recovery and also resolved some other issues that I had. Whilst in the waiting room my regular GP Dr John said hello and I explained it was a spur of the moment appointment, hence unable to wait to see him. Nunawading Clinic staff from the reception counter to the professional GP,s and Nurses on duty are so easy and helpful to deal with I travel a bit further for my medical needs. It’s hard to find medical services that you can rely on and I know that I have definitely found that at...
