Like most things in Docklands, It is another example of the lack of understanding of how to build a community. All footpaths leading to and surrounding this park and playground are dirt or mud - minimum spend. At the end of a dead end road in the shadow of a major tollway - least potential spot for skyscraper/revenue. Minimal play equipment in playground of about 10 x 30 metres in sand and zero shade - minimum spend. Very windy and exposed area with little or no trees to grow around/near playground - minimum spend. This is the theme throughout Docklands. It is a disgrace in public infrastructure planning. Anything that does not generate revenue is at best an afterthought. Very high density housing. Little or no services for humans. It is built for economic units to live here. Shame on you Melbourne City Council for outsourcing your...
Read moreLovely park hidden under bolt bridge, great for sports and children activities. There is also a children’s playground. However as many others mentioned the place is not very child friendly despite this, because of dog owners who don’t follow the rules, they ruin this park. I’ve seen so many dog owners who let their dogs run around and play in the children playground and other unassigned areas, which is illegal under the law, many of these dogs are dangerous breeds, I’ve also encountered an incident where a dog attempted to jump on a child. I’ve had to ask some dog owners to leave the playground a few times as they were using the children playground equipment for their dogs
the council needs to do something about this, there needs to be more clear and larger sign boards around areas where dogs are...
Read moreThis is a really well designed park with some great ideas. Water play area drains into shallow pool which trickles out to sanded area where a digger/crane allows kids to create water courses. The two slides in the tower are wicked fast and can be negotiated by a 2.5 yr old. A forested path is growing in quite nicely, there's a swing, smaller slide, climbable netting and other things to challenge kids. A complicated structure for digging, lifting and moving sand. Pro tip - there are toilets around the back of the sports centre, and it's a short walk to the river if you want to catch some water traffic. It's in a really unique place up against industrial docklands and the Bolte, but why not put a park in an area you couldn't do...
