I have stayed at the vibe hotel now a few times , 2 or 3 times since The name change, & previously as four points. i will say i feel the hotel has gone downhill in cleanliness which makes a big difference to stay. A Positive- I was going to mention upon checkout but the lady checking us out on the morning was just so lovely that i didn’t have the courage to look like I was complaining. in saying this , this is not at all a complaint & rather constructive feedback as we would visit again.
As I see someone else has mentioned already - the black fixtures in the room We’re so incredibly dusty that it was very very obviously they hadn’t been wiped in some time.. (which Would take minutes with a duster) . The remote was actually so bad that I had to alcohol wipe before using it. I had booked the twin room as sharing with children and with no airflow it sadly led to us all coughing most of the weekend which I assume would be from the dust?
As we were staying two nights, I had completely forgotten the cleaner would be in on the second day, I only realised someone had attempted a clean when I seen fresh towels however the beds had all the bottom sheets hanging out as if it had just been thrown back up. i honestly didn’t realise a cleaner had been at first. Pillows were also hit and miss with one making us laugh as it went straight through to mattress .felt empty . the shower IN USE is lovely and warm with good pressure but if using the wall shower to avoid hair it does active the rain like shower above to drip ( or at least it did in our room ) this leads to a not very nice feeling of cool water dropping on your head while trying the shower behind.
The Restaurant, bar and checking staff were really lovely and the breakfast as always is a hit, lt was the first time we had dinner A restaurant, Food was decent, Nothing to rave about but admittedly we didn’t order anything other than kids meals and a parmigiana. maybe something a little fancier would of been worth reviewing more as i did hear others really happy with their selections.
The dessert however was paired with ice cream that tasted exactly like that frosty freezer taste when an ice cream lid hasn’t been placed correctly. was inedible But luckily the kids got a small packaged ice cream with there meals for which i was able to share.
As mentioned, i will visit again as i find the location great with kids given the district directly across road with lots of options but i would like to see some changes within basic cleanliness and...
Read moreRooms not cleaned very well, from bed being poorly made, carpets not hoovered, cups not being cleaned, tea and coffee box not refilled although extra milk put on the fridge once, no bottled water put in room, we had to buy our own. Bed very uncomfortable, lumpy and only one pillow per side, lack of pillows or cushions and headboard in a peculiar position a good 4 inches above the top of the bed lead to stiff neck and back ache when sitting on bed reading or watching TV. TV that turned itself back on a short while after turned off reported but not fixed, we had to turn TV on ane off each time we used it. Lighting in room poor some areas a wee bit too dark.|Only two small bath towels, one small hand towel and a flannel per room, had to wait for hubby to dress so I could have his towel to dry my hair. Restaurant for breakfast was turmoil, I guess they were not used to a full hotel, orange juice often ran out, coffee machines, they had 3 of them, often ran out of water, they had to keep topping up with water as not connected to the mains water. Cooked breakfast was often Luke warm, and to be honest quite tasteless.|We stayed for 6 nights as part of the recent Lions Rugby tour, we was on 15th floor overlooking ferris wheel, industrial area and container port not inspiring. One night and following morning our electrics were turned off, another room had problems so we were told by electrician, so they just turn off all the power to the floor no regard for other guests, member of staff said they could not let guests know as late arriving flight crews were sleeping, that dud not stop them testing fire alarms around 8am though.|Being winter the area was very quite, well except Saturday when returning from the Lions match we heard lots of music in bars that had not been open earlier in the week, most restaurants were closed, had to go into town if you wanted something other than last food from the mall opposite.|The one plus point was that there were 3 trams that left from station just opposite, and they are free.|Thus hotel struggles to meet a 4* rating. I would not recommend to...
Read moreThis hotel has potential but is missing the mark on many levels. It has a great location, slightly outside the CBD but still within the free tram zone into the CBD proper. Easy walk to a Woolworths supermarket, eateries, shopping and Marvel Stadium. This area of Docklands seems to be struggling with low retail tenancies, but a superb relaxed part of the city. ||However, with TFE having only had possession of the Vibe since April 2024, they have much to do. A few examples. Our group of 3 couples checked in around 9pm on a Friday night with little activity in reception at the time. Yet our lovely but young staff member struggled with the process, forgetting to add the package's late check out that caused issues on the Sunday. We were also informed that the eateries in the area had closed and we would have to head into the city. A quick online search found several options within walking distance and a fantastic local pizza shop. ||The major review criticisms around Vibe are related to cleaning, and yes this hotel needs a very good deep clean. The hallways are dirty, and an adjacent room to ours had they room service tray sitting outside their room for around 30 hours. The issue is built-up dust, and lots of knocks on walls that can be easily patched and painted. Our room had a sticky patch alongside a bed, which a cleaner should have easily spotted. What was more concerning is that having read the recent reviews after we had booked and paid a few months ago, I wrote to management at Vibe Hotel Docklands, but did not receive a reply.||It is not all gloom. The breakfast staff are amazing. They offer a simple, but fresh and re-stocked breakfast buffet that should make any traveller happy and ready for the day ahead. There are criticisms in reviews, but you would have to be very fussy to want more than that on offer. Plaudits to the friendly and engaging staff.||Management have a potential winner here, but if they don't address the cleaning and possible staffing issues at this hotel, the review will continue on a...
