The worst breakfast ever. Service and quality are obviously going down. I used to eat 6 months ago and service and quality were not that bad .This morning , I tried again but totally feel like wasted money. First thing, when we seated, table is not cleaned and some more shaky (Table 11 window side). The server boy asked us to move beside table. Then we ordered food. QR code not working again. Second thing, when coffee is served, spoons are all dirty and server boy gave new ones and not even apologise (may be they think that’s normal) Third, tomato sauce. I did ask the sauce upon serving; then he totally forgot and never turned up. I just let them be and not arguing back (only 2 staffs running on the floor; so we just understand that situation even though customer service is obviously lacking) Lastly, this is the worst thing. See attached photo. Bacon is overly burnt and goes to dark side. I went to female server in person and talked politely to change back for me just for bacon as it is overly cooked. She said okay; then totally ignored what I said and kept clearing all the tables. I waited like 5 mins and she didn’t turned up. Then I just eating as I’m starving and till I finish, she didn’t pop up with new bacon. Upon billing, no one asked us how’s the breakfast going but I did give feedback to male server for Bacon. But I do not think nobody will take seriously on that feedback as well.

I’m just wondering why Chefs gave like that if they think this should not be served to customers. So, we can see that this is lack of respect and food standards (like whatever we have to eat what they prepared)and even server (lack of detailed orientation) not highlighted when they see the foods sth wrong before serving to customers. Do they really think Bacon should be like that????

So, whoever reading this (management or owner), u guys start looking into ground what is happening both on the customer service, food quality, and culinary sides. Everything is lack of service and quality is going into downside. If you guys move on like that, one day, you will know why customers not turning back. For the restaurant, service standards and food quality should be consistent. For weekends, u should put more manpower if u think it’s gonna busy. This is my strong advice. For us, we will not choose again for our...

✨ Cafe Gem on CBD Fringe ✨

Discover one of Melbourne’s finest offerings of brunch, where classic dishes are creatively infused with Asian flavors and cooking techniques.

We had: 🍳 Smoked Beef Benedict $26 🍞 French Toast $23 🥩 Beef Stew $28 ☕️ Dirty Latte $8 🍵 Matcha Affogato $11

Rather than a typical rosti, the Benedict features a crispy panko crumbed croquette of small chunks of thoroughly cooked potato and tasty mince meat. The smoked beef itself was just as flavourful complemented with tonkatsu sauce, the fatty bits from the beef were particularly my favourite!

On the other hand, the Beef stew boasted melt-in-your-mouth protein infused with rich flavors of red wine sauce, served alongside smooth potato mash and buttered baguette. A dish so tasty I didn’t want to share!

While both dishes centered around beef and potatoes, each provided a distinct culinary experience.

The French toast was well balanced, offering a firm, spongey texture with small air pockets, with thin layer of egg and encased in caramelised sugar providing a mildly sweet taste. Ice cream added right amount of moisture and refreshing coolness to the dish.

The Matcha Affogato leaned towards a sweeter rendition of a matcha dessert, complemented by whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and Nestum, which offered contrasting nutty tones and a porridge-like texture.

All the dishes exceeded our expectations in taste and execution, highly recommend making...

I recently visited this cafe for the second time, hoping that the menu changes would lead to a better experience. Unfortunately, I was disappointed once again.

The food looks visually appealing.

Firstly, the Tiramisu latte was incredibly watery, lacking the rich, creamy texture that one would expect from such a drink. The cream on top didn’t have the luxurious consistency I anticipated, making the entire drink feel subpar.

Next, I ordered the risotto, which was overwhelmingly salty. It overshadowed any other flavors that might have been present, making it difficult to enjoy.

I also tried the creamy mushroom dish, which was excessively oily. Not only was the sauce unappetizing, but the mushrooms were tough and lacked the tenderness that you would hope for in a well-prepared dish.

On top of the food issues, the service was lacking. It was evident that there were not enough staff members, which contributed to a long wait time. When we finally did receive service, the staff's attitude was less than friendly, which added to the overall negative experience.

The food came out quick, less than 10 mins, as there are just 3 tables of customers.

In the end, they gave me $9 dollars coins of $1 after 5 mins wait.

I genuinely wanted to give this cafe a fair chance, but both visits have left me feeling disappointed. I hope they can address these issues...

A chill Cafe with a wide range of brunch dishes and drinks. We ordered: Supreme Affogato $12 - the ice cream was smoothe and sweet; the espresso shot was perfect. The biscoff biscuit added texture to the drink and overall well presented. Tiramisu latte $9.50 - creamy foam and the coffee was brewed just right. How the foam layer sits on the coffee and how it maintains its thickness even when the lady fingers biscuit is dipped. DELISH! Flat white - they use market lane beans and the beans were quite aromatic. The coffee was made perfectly with silky milk and well bodied. Braised beef benedict $26 + hash $6. The 48hrs spud vide beef brisket was tender and pulled apart so easily and paired well with the potato pave that had the most crisp shell and soft layers. The poached eggs were drizzled with bearnaise, and they were slightly overcooked, but fortunately, they were made how I preferred them. The hash on the side was so crispy. Chilli scrambled eggs $26 - the eggs were well made, creamy and soft. The chilli had a kick to it **We were invited but reviews based on my experience at the time.
