James and Co. Wines — Attraction in Rutherglen

I must leave a review for anyone keen on wine, particulary red wine. I stumbled across James & Co in Rutherglen, approximately 2 years ago. Not wanting to walk out empty handed, I purchased a bottle of Sangiovese Cabernet. Staying in Beechworth, I tried the bottle the next night for dinner ……. Amazing!!!! Looking for a fantastic spot to people watch, lounge around and fill your face with epic gourmet cheese and other goodies? This is your place.

But, before you settle in for that cheese platter, get your face around their beautiful wines. The sparkling rose is a cult favourite, sells out every year. I always stock up because I need it to survive.

Ricky and Georgie are brilliant hosts, always up for a laugh, and will ensure you don't leave empty handed (or with an empty stomach).

PS: Their coffee is ace, too! Latte, and no sugar 'cos I'm sweet...

We were walking past James & Co at closing time and when he saw our interest, the owner invited us in for a wine! Who does that?!

Lovely people running a beautiful space, with top notch friendly country service and sumptuous food and wine. We highly recommend a visit.
