Great little hotel in the centre of Rutherglen. It is at the back of the Poachers Hotel (which when open, you can walk through to the other side of the street)||Studio room was spacious. It had a Queen bed, lounge, coffee table and small table.||Lots of bench space in the room. Good sized wardrobe. Microwave, Fridge, Kettle, cups, some bowls, knives, and forks as well as tea / coffee making facilities.||The bathroom was also very spacious with plenty of bench room for your toiletries.||The bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows etc available.||Foxtel was on the TV and parking was right out the front of my room.||The staff were very friendly and easy to communicate with. They also turned the air con on in advance for me, so the room was nice and warm when I arrived later in the evening.||For the geographically challenged, please note that your GPS will take you to the front of the hotel and not the Motel entrance. Read moreWe stayed at Poachers Motel last night and both the accommodation and meals were very very disappointing. The room was freezing cold. The heating was sub sufficient, there was no electric blanket on one bed and another that did not work. Bedside lamp was faulty and we addressed the issues with the host but nothing was rectified. We booked two single beds and had to share the queen size bed because the heating wasn’t efficient enough to heat the second bedroom without an electric blanket. Both of our meals were very ordinary, lacked in quality and presentation and the whole experience was average to say the least. We won’t be returning to this venue, on the upside the rooms were clean and it would not have taken much to improve...

The advertised music was the usual muzac on the PA. The barman said, "It doesnt say live music". One might have expected a DJ or somee effort to be made on NYE, especially when it was advertised on their website. A random spinning wheel (again, advertised on the website) had not been spun between 7pm and 9.30pm. When the barman was approached he said he was about to spin it. The moon has more atmosphere than Poachers Paradise. Went across the road to The Star Hotel. The staff their were friendly and attentive, and there was a jukebox....
