I enjoy using the library to read and reseach for interest and fun. Meals / coffe breaks at the Library Cafe (good food, good service) is an added bonus however recently particularly this past Friday January 20 there has been entertainment vocalists on the outdoor plaza who are loud, off key, and brash yelling out lyrics in their repertoire perhaps better appreciated by a pub audience rather then that of a Library. She persisted into the late afternoon. I'm all for supporting new and struggling artists but I'm reasonably sure this is not the right venue for them.
To compound matters all the floor to ceiling glass walls of the museum and library were opened wide making it impossible to concentrate on reading in the library. I noted that when I walked out other regulars were no where to be found.
The question is, is the library and museum plaza a concert hall or a library? A playground or a library? I'm assuming our tax dollars for the building and books was for a library!
Over to you council ......
