I would only attend this practice if you would like to leave feeling worse than you what you did going in.
After years of mental struggle and finally finding the courage to follow through with the arduous process of being referred (including a 7 month wait list) I was left feeling belittled and ashamed of myself. It made me feel defeated. I was in tears explaining my desperation for help he showed no duty of care. There were times where he actually scoffed and giggled at my concerns.
The Psychiatrist insisted that "people like me" were nothing but dramatic and refused to listen to what I had to say, he also stated that I just needed an attitude adjustment and to "try harder" while also cutting my appointment short. I was still expected to pay the full $200.00 of course. He reluctantly agreed to write me a prescription for a medication that he deemed "A waste of time". If I wasn't worthy of being diagnosed why would I be offered medication? When I tried to fill the prescription the pharmacist pulled me aside and advised that the Psychiatrist had put it on a "private script" which made a $30.00 medication over $180.00. Which just shows how petty this man really is. Upon seeking another GP for another referral I was told that this particular Psychiatrist has a reputation for this behaviour. I have since seen a MUCH more competent Psychiatrist and received the diagnosis, care, compassion, help and medication that I really needed.
I have also lodged a formal complaint with the HCCC. This kind of non-compassion is what results in people taking their own lives. This is supposed to be a service that provides help and care to people in need and I saw nothing a-like.
I NEVER leave reviews, good or bad but this is totally necessary to save people the time, money and emotional damage that came with my appointment.
Heed this warning and ask to be referred...
Read moreAbsolute trash place me and my partner had to come here for appointments starting at 2:30, didn’t get to see anyone until well after 3 only to have possibly the worst psychiatrist I’ve ever met, straight up tried to diagnose me with ADHD then every question he asked no matter what the answer was, just looked at me like I was an idiot then went to the next question. Left there feeling 1000x worse than I did to begin with from having absolute no help or answers and to make it even more of a joke they ask customers for 150$!!!!! For what?! No one in there clearly know how to do their job as they gave people a 45minute to hour and a half allocated time but we were both in and out within about 10 minutes!! Clearly none of them have got their psych degree in Australia, if at all. If you need to speak to someone about a mental health issue, don’t bother coming here because you’ll waste 150$ just to be looked down on and rushed out as soon as...
Read moreSpoke with Dr Graham Michael via Telehealth last week who did the intake consult—seriously great man and a very knowledgeable GP specialising in ADHD. He took the time to listen to my concerns, and seemed to take thorough notes for the psychiatrist, Dr Habib Joseph Behi, who I recently saw (he was also fantastic). Both Drs were empathetic and very easy to talk to. It took less than a week to see the GP, talk to the psychiatrist about diagnosis and medication options, and get the meds in my hand. I spent about $1200 for those two consults which I’m happy with considering that the clinic provided an exceptional service that was straightforward and transparent. Compared to other clinics, I’m saving money long-term as I go back to their GP ($250) for follow ups rather than the psychiatrist ($900). All patient care is done internally which I really appreciate. Fantastic work guys, and you should be proud of the...
