Itās a long one
I have recently gotten out of hospital due to a condition causing me to overproduce brain fluid, Iām suffering constant headaches, vision loss, tiredness, concentration and memory loss. I have barely been out of bed in 4 weeks. Due to the pressure build up surrounding my brain. This year my family were coming to me. I thought the least I could do was ensure there was food here for them to cook for Christmas lunch.
Naively I trusted Coles was capable of making this happen. On the 23rd of December I place an order worth $316 order number 181646527. 30 minutes prior to this being due for delivery I receive a text message saying it has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, refund can take up to 3-5 business days to reflect in my account. Upon calling customer care, I learn this is due to a staff shortage. Coles being incapable of considering the holiday period and underestimating the staff they need and incorrectly rostering should not be a reason a family go hungry at Christmas.
I bite the bullet and move on. Unlucky right. I reorder for delivery the next day, I did two orders for delivery as I needed more items. Order 181797104 and 181829921 totalling $550. I receive my email to say what was substituted and what was out of stock. Only one thing was out of stock. I thought amazing, not only am I getting my order today Iām getting just about everything! As I expected stock shortages being last minute. My groceries arrive and I have relief. However short lived. 24 items were missing from my order. I call customer care again. After a lengthy phone call and the call responder calling the store, theyāve come back with āthe store has no bags and the driver took it, so he must have misplaced itā I asked if they could repack and my partner could pick it up. Iām unable to drive and he was stuck at work. āThe store donāt have your items and they arenāt comfortable repacking them as they already have packed them. This is a driver problem not a Coles problemā This absolutely is a Coles problem. And the inability to take accountability is disgusting. I am out $860 on groceries that I donāt have. Not to even mention the $300 my partner has then had to go spend at Woolworths.
I cannot explain the disgust and disappointment I have for Coles. The stress this has caused. Iām unfortunately tapping out and will no longer be shopping at coles. Iām only a little guy, I purchase weekly for my family and my business and spend maybe $600 a week. However I will not support a business with such little care for the people who help...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I brought a lebara sim advertised as 12 aud (was a 39 aud starter pack) on 28/02/2024 at Coleās in Shellharbour shopping center . It scanned at 39 aud.
I called the customer service representative to help me out with this issue at self checkout counter.
He said itā might be different packing and asked me to pick another one. I did so and it still scanned at 39 aud as well.
The person assisting at self checkout then told me it could be yesterdayās promo and cancelled the sim from my cart and said sorry .
I asked him if he wasnāt honoring the advertised price to which he said , this is a gift card and we canāt honour prices on this.
Thatās a lie. You have to honour the prices whatever the advertised item is . Having worked in supermarkets before I very well knew that; but shame on the person trying to dupe me even after asking me to get another pack and rescan the same before not honouring the advertised price finally. Just because you canāt remove stickers (I didnāt confirm if itās from a previous deal- they just ripped it apart when they found out )
This is the person who is always at the self check counters . Iāll never shop at Coleās because of this incident . What a scum of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreColes Shellharbour at Shellharbour Stocklands is one of the cleanest and well organised Coles supermarkets I have been in. It is well lit and the produce, flowers were fresh and well presented. They even had a wet floor sign in the produce department to let customers know the floor was wet, a big tick in my books. The produce department I give 5 stars. I gave it 3 stars only because of the staff were not helpful in the meat section. I wanted to know if they sold pork belly rashes and where I could find them and the butcher totally ignored me. I just put it down to he was probably having a bad day. Still if you work in the customer service industry you expect to deal with customers and their queries. I mean hello isn't that what customer service is all about, providing for the customers needs? Very disappointing other than that the shop itself was very satisfactory. The produce department just blew me away with their presentation, freshness and layout. Well done produce department! See for yourself in the photo's I posted along with...
