Ah, La Patisserie in South Perth, a little slice of France tucked away in the heart of Western Australia. Stepping into this charming café and patisserie feels like stepping into a Parisian dream. The tantalizing aroma of freshly baked pastries and the delicate artistry of the sweet treats on display transport you to the streets of Paris, where every bite is a moment of pure indulgence. From the moment you enter, you're greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're in the mood for a classic croissant, a delicate macaron, or a heavenly slice of gateau, each creation is crafted with precision and passion, reflecting the true artistry of French patisserie. But it's not just the exceptional pastries that make La Patisserie a gem. As born and bread in France I can say without a doubt that you are NOT getting a bang for your buck trying their croissants and alike. They look, feel and taste like thawed frozen ones. I was told about this place so thought I'd give it a go. For $5 a croissant you're getting ripped off and pay for the location rather than for the quality of the food. Don't be fooled by their name, the French flag and the cute Eiffel Tower drawing at the entrance. You're not getting the true croissant experience there. Those who say you do have never had the real deal, that's it. If you don't trust what I'm saying, when in Subiaco look for Layer's Bakery to find out what a true French croissant is. FYI, all staff making the magic happen in the kitchen is French and know what they're doing over there...

$7 Cinnamon scroll was horribly dry. Not worth the calories. Can’t recommend this place and would not return. We were there around 1030am, we ordered a cinnamon scroll, two coffees and a baby chino. Cinnamon scroll was so dry and thin. It didn’t quite pull apart, it had to be broken and cut. I took it back and they claimed it was fresh from that morning. They offered to return my money but I simply wanted a fresh pastry, then offered to microwave it which you really shouldn’t need on a fresh bread pastry item. They did, for too long then it was too hot for my 2YO to eat. Straw on the baby chino (red) one was cut too short which didn’t work for my son to drink the contents. Such a basic order.

Had a sandwich here that had mustard in it .....and basically just mustard it was the craziest thing anyone has ever put in front of me on a plate it was allegedly a croque madam but what actually arrived was three slices of bread covered from one end to the other in an insane amount of extremely strong mustard that tased like wasabi and was impossible to eat without gagging to each there own taste for sure but I'm not simply saying I didn't enjoy it I'm saying no living person could actually choke it down without being sick I had to get as much water in me as I could right after the first bite as as soon as I put it in my mouth it had the white hot intensity of eating a tablespoon of pure wasabi could taste nothing else but pain and mustard madness. Credit where it due I told them and they replaced it and made a just ok normal version and gave me a coffee free for the trouble but I had to warn others cos in all seriousness had I been an old man with a heart problem I'd have probably died of shock I wish I was...

Took bub here for a treat this after noon and was served by probably the least welcoming cafe staff ever. There was no waiting line, and no staff behind the counter when we arrived as the cafe was packed. Finally, a blond hair female staff returned to the counter, and took the order from two other customers who were there first. Then there were me and my bub. There were two other men who walked in after me and bub, and they acted like they were there first. The blond hair staff seemed to only wanted to serve these men without even asking a simple question as “Who’s next?”. I had to stepped up to make sure I was served when it was my turn. We swapped table, and I ended up moving my drink myself while she served pastries to the men who arrived after us. Coming from a hospitality background, seeing this level of service in South Perth really provokes me. Although their almond croissants are tasty, it is certainly not my first or only choice for dining...
