Accor Stadium in Sydney, formerly known as ANZ Stadium or Stadium Australia, is one of Australia’s most famous stadiums. Located in Sydney Olympic Park, it served as the main venue for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Today, it is primarily used for sporting events, concerts, and large-scale events.
Personal Opinions on Some Advantages: Large Venue Capacity Accor Stadium can accommodate 80,000 spectators, making it one of the largest stadiums in Australia. The seating arrangement can be adjusted depending on the event. Personally, I have only attended concerts here. Well-Equipped Facilities The stadium offers convenient transportation, with nearby train stations and bus routes. Special train services are also arranged during major events. Additionally, the on-site facilities, including food outlets and restrooms, are well-equipped to cater to a large audience. Significant Historical Importance As the main venue of the 2000 Olympics, this stadium holds many historical moments. It has also hosted major events such as the Rugby World Cup and the AFL Grand Final. Versatile and Multi-Purpose Use Besides sporting events, Accor Stadium is also a popular venue for large-scale concerts in Sydney. Many internationally renowned artists, such as Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, have performed here. Additionally, Mayday’s concerts at this stadium have attracted a massive fan base.

Read moreBeware that tickets you buy don't mention whether they're under cover and protected from wet weather or not (they should provide a warning during seat selection if they don't, and they should be sold at lower prices), so before you splurge $500 on booking tickets for the whole family to see a major event too far in the future to know an accurate weather forecast, consider that if weather is raining and thunderstorms on the day of the event you might have to wear a sweaty rain jacket, overalls, and gumboots (pants might be sweaty and soggy and boots might be full of water if you buy cheap waterproof poncho pants that aren't really that waterproof) for the whole event and that some people use umbrella and block the view of people behind them. I bought a wide brimmed cowboy hat since that stops rain on an angle getting in my face. But you might have issues taking photos if you don't have a waterproof camera or phone since water droplets collect on the screen making it hard to tap. If you don't have wet weather gear then you'll want to buy and bring them. And if it's a noisy event like Monster Jam (worth it in wet weather since those beasts thrive in mud) you'll want to remember to bring ear protection muffs ($15) or ear plugs for your kids. Also if you don't remember to pre-book parking (I didn't even realise you could pre-book parking otherwise I would have bought it when I bought the event tickets) and it sells out you'll have to catch public transport. Public transport is actually a good option since trains depart every ~15 mins to Strathfield/Central or Lidcombe, whereas with parking you might be waiting in long queues behind thousands of other slow drivers both getting out of the car park and then trying to get out of Sydney Olympic...
Read moreWe attended the final performance of The Royal Edinburgh military tattoo and came away somewhat disappointed. The show lacked real Military content along with sufficient pipes & drums. Why did they display the Aboriginal colours next to the flags of Nations who made significant contributions. It was The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Australia not a continual smoking ceremony and welcome to the point we were bored and embrassed to our International guests. They like us believe in one people one nation. Many of the acts were entertaining but not of a military tattoo standard. In fact outside of the bands until we had the pleasure of the Swiss Secret Drum Corp the show was similar to what one may find on Reality TV Shows not a $200 a seat event of the statue of The Tattoo. The shows only other act to live up to the normal quality of performance was the NZ Lochiel Marching Drill Team. Again I repeat acts not the bands. Why was John Paul Young part of the show, was it because he was born in Scotland, his act was propped up by dancers who again belonged on a concert stage not a Tattoo parade ground. What have I to back this up you might ask, well I am a regular attendee at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo including last year in Edinburgh. The lack of quality was perhaps the reason that ticket sales were well and truly underway before the composition of this Tattoo was announced and even offers like two for one tickets failed to fill the stadium often like the final performance hundreds of seats remained vacant whereas in Edinburgh its always a sell out event before night one. Good try but not up to the standards of...
