Service was generally good, staff were friendly and the actual experience was relatively entertaining and immersive if you keep your expectations low as the tech is without its glitches. So the following sucks for me to say, and i hate being that karen lowering your score... However..
There was one incident from one staff member that upon hindsight didn't sit well with me. The experience sometimes glitches with the screen suddenly going to black or changing the angle of your position and feeling abit disorientating. This is to be expected of the current tech but its what happened after that spoilt the rest of my time for me.
The second time it did this, it changed angle and I was suddenly standing within the virtual characters body running into me, unintentionally seeing the insides of her face and teeth. This was certainly very distorienting. And eventhough i expressed myself to my friends just as loud as any of the other groups around us, a staff came and patted me on my shoulder and told me i was a big boy and i should be quiet. I was so stunned by the comment I didn't think to react at the time. It's totally fine to be quieter not to disturb others but to be patted and condescendly spoken to like that by a stranger just because I look a certain age when I'm far from it, i found that very disrespectful. And what if I was actually in distress from the visual disorientation? Not to mention no where did we see signs to be quiet. And no one is obviously going to warn you about the disorientation. Abit more understanding and care with how customers are approached could...
Read moreLocated at Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. This was a really interesting experience. Your guide is part of the AI when you put your goggles on. It’s an immersive experience that takes you back to Egypt and you explore the pyramids, relive the reign of King Khufu and his death and burial and sail the Nile River and more. The detail is spot on. Very intricate. You feel as if you really are in the pyramid and on top of it and there were times we didn’t want to take a step in fear of falling through the stepping stones. The detail in the scenery around the pyramid’s was exceptional. It was obvious a lot of research and work went into getting the final product perfect. It’s an accessible building and I saw wheelchairs that could be used but I am not sure how they could be used with the story and such. One thing I will say is that we were so focused on where we were stepping etc that we missed a large part of what the guide and cat 🐈⬛ were saying. It’s almost like we felt like we needed to go through a second time to get what they said. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The building itself is actually more like a large tent, not a permanent building and the toilets are portaloos outside, I didn’t see a disability toilet 🚻. They needed a good cleaning, very dirty. It cost $49.50 for adults and $40.50 for children (8-17 years), seniors, concession. It takes about 45 minutes to complete and you have to sign a waiver before they let you start. I was an interesting experience, glad I did it. Thumbs...
