Brilliant track with great ocean views & a variety of terrain. The walk from Malabar to Maroubra & back is around 7km & 90 mins & can be a decent workout if you push it along. The problem is it’s only open to the public a couple of days a week because of the rifle range being used. Such an amazing area should be there for everyone to use every day & not be at the mercy of a bunch of shooters who could surely find another location that’s better suited & not on prime public land! This huge headland should be a Centennial Park by the ocean with open areas, parks, native plant gardens, sporting fields, playgrounds, bbq areas, cafes, amphitheaters etc all day 7 days a week!!

My dad and I really enjoyed this easy hike a while ago. You can see the beautiful scenery without much effort here. It only takes about 2 hours to walk the whole park, and most of the roads are flat, which is very suitable for novice hikers. If you are lucky enough to come here in June-July, you can even see whales migrating. It is also a good place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Oh, one more thing, there is a shooting range in the park. Make sure to check the official website before you come to see if the shooting range is open. If the shooting range is open, the most beautiful route by the sea will be closed.😮‍💨

Great walking trail next to Maroubra Beach! About a 3 to 3.2km (52 min hike at 16min/km with altitude gain of 52m) hike from the Beach end to the Boat Ramp carpark off Fisherman’s Road. You can park either end although it was a struggle on a Sunday to park at Maroubra Beach carpark. Trail is relatively flat however there are stairs so probably not recommended for wheelchairs. Most of the trail is paved but about 300m at the start of either end is either gravel or sand. Views are fantastic on a sunny day! Remember to bring your suntan lotion and wear your cap and sunglasses!

Middling experience. Beautiful park that's well worth a visit- when it's open to the public. Unfortunately the powers that be have decided to close the eastern (most interesting) part of the park for the majority of the weekend, every weekend, starting in May, so that the military can have live fire exercises all day (except on the second and fourth Sunday of every month; how generous). No indication of when this will change. If like most people you don't have time to visit during the week, don't bother trying to go (unless you want to try and enter the park illegally, in which case you may cop a fine or a stray round). Talk about a lack of consideration for the...
