I prefer shopping at this supermarket to its competitors in Chatswood. First of all, the shop is run by people from Hong Kong, which means the quality of merchandise and staff performance are generally better than its competitors. Here, u don’t worry about man-made additives, and many fresh food items are made in Australia. As staff are from Hong Kong and English/cantonese-speaking, they are generally courteous, patient, and tolerant, if u are polite to them. It’s a wholly different kind of mindset at play here. In particular, there is a mature-age female staff member at the cash register, and she is very polite, patient, and customer-orientated. The shop is also one of the major advocates/campaigners of traditional and authentic Chinese culture. During the annual Chinese new year, dragon dance and drumming are performed in front of the shop, reminding the local community that time-honoured traditions of Chinese culture are still well and alive, bringing a sense of awareness and pride to those of mandarin/cantonese-speaking...
Read moreIt's a horrible experience to shop in this supermarket. Customer Service/Cashier Jennifer was extremely impolite and ungracious, she was rolling her eyes when demanded us to bring the basket to her. Yes, demanded, instead of asking us politely, she acted discourteous and ill-mannered. While we didn't understand why her behaviour so disrespectful, we decide to keep claim and speak to the manager, however, the shop manager pretended there was no manager in the store, and told me the boss is in Hong Kong at the moment, he won't reply my message anyway, so he suggested me don't call him. Later he gave me a mobile number actually was his personal contact number instead of his boss's. This store management is horrible, staff was ill-mannered and dishonest. Covering the cashier Jennifer with her horrible behaviour. it's disappointed because we were regular customer in the store. I hope this cashier can apologise and not acting like...
Read moreI am a regular customer of Asian City but little did I expect to be on the receiving end of appalling poor customer care. Not to say the customer services received on previous occasions were great, it’s was simply transactional without the rudeness.
On a recent shopping, I requested for help with my purchases into my tote bag but was blatantly turned down and was asked to do it myself. I have no qualms doing so normally but on that day, I struggled with lots of shopping and was recovering from a tennis elbow.
She was happy to stand there to watch me (as if I needed supervision) instead of making herself useful. Didn’t care if I was holding up the line, she just watched. Hence, I couldn’t resist to tell her off that she has zero customer service. She looked away with a smug on her face. Unbelievable! How was she ever hired in the first place. Whoever running the supermarket needs to pay more attention to recruiting...
