Chatswood BBQ Kitchen 好上好燒臘海鮮小廚 — Restaurant in Sydney

This is the first time we are having our dinner in this small restaurant, we booked beforehand and asked for what time will be the last booking, they said 8pm. Then I booked 8pm. They have a signage showing 1/2 kg crab for $49.80, I did ask them to keep one for me and they said will do. However, when we arrived, they said our booking should be 6pm, then they showed me the crab and asked if this is fine, , I asked if this was $49.80? and they said no, they said $49.80 is for 1/2 kg and all the 1/2kg crab has gone, the one they showed me was $130, more than a double. If I did not ask, they did not even prepare to tell me the price, more over, such a small restaurant, not very high class, but a normal size vegetable costs $20.90. In Eastwood or Carlingford, same size of the vegetables normally cost nothing when you order a set dinner with three to four dishes. Another dish we ordered was crispy chicken, very dry and no good, the source is really bad to me. We asked for table water, no turn up at all. We ordered rice, no turned up until we chased for it. Ordered mixed meats with rice and Chinese vegies as photographed on menu I got broccoli which I hate I asked the waitress could I please have bok choy as on the menu She couldn’t under stand me even though I was pointing to the pic on the menu She bought me steamed lettuce or cabbage She called manager Who said they don’t have it even though the table next to me had a plate of it I asked why The manager said “ok I’ll get it because you are special next time you pay extra “ Then he said some thing in Chinese that made all the other Chinese customers turn and look at me I felt so bad sitting there Then I asked for chilli sauce and hoi sin sauce She bought me a bowl of broth I said sorry I adked for hoi sin sause she said “there” Then an other Chinese customer translated for me so she came back and threw it on the table saying something in Chinese I was always polite saying please and thank you Shame I wasn’t treated the same A lunch I treated myself to because of an unexpected $$ windfall turned out to be an embarrassment But I have to say duck and roast pork was...

I recently went to this eatery to try out after they had renovated the place. Located within walking distance from Chatswood Interchange, it is easily accessible via bus, train or metro. Highlights: The staff are very friendly and it was their friendliness that convinced us to dine here. They were attentive. Special shout out to Jason. They can converse in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. The food was decent. I liked the beef brisket with decent meat portions. It was also very tender and tasty. The roast pork and tofu, it was just ok. Unfortunately, some of the pieces of roast pork tasted like they had been kept in the fridge for a while. There was complementary hot chinese tea. The restaurant was renovated tastefully. The earthy colours and warm lighting were welcoming. Both cash and card are accepted. It is one of the few restaurants in the area that is open past 830pm for dinner.
