Event Cinemas Parramatta — Local services in Sydney

Do not waste your Money! I wish there were no stars! Attended Cinema 3 on 29-12-19 @ 9.45am Star Wars session. It smelt rotten, the floors were dirty, the escalator did not work and when we used the lift there was vomit and mess which smelt just like the cinema and we had to hold our breathe the whole way in the lift. When I spoke to the chap at the front he did not seem the slightest bit interested and told me to make a complaint through the website and would not give me the Managers name to talk to face to face.

I wanted to warn other families of these cinemas, the lack of care and cleanliness so they don't experience this like we did. One would think when you spend $100 to take a family out for a movie experience that the area be tidy. If I was the Manager of this site, I would be embarrassed and to take a families Christmas family experience & hard earned money for that experience, ashamed. We have some Gold Class tickets that we were also going to use for our children, but frankly we would rather throw them out than return to the venue.

I wish we read all the other reviews in regards to this venue before spending our money! I am not one to whinge, but after reading all the other complaints I realised that I was not being pedantic and this venue is totally dis-respecting customers and shareholders who take dividends from the parent company. It will be interesting if we even get a reply as it seems the PR machine only reply to "favourable" reviews. I suppose companies can only ignore customers for so long and they eventually vote with their feet!

I will also advise the local council as the place is simply unhygienic and should be looked at very closely under WH&S for their staff, let alone their customers!! Thank fully, I did not order any food...

Absolutely disgusted with the maintenance of this multiplex. Seats have stains and cinema halls are littered with popcorn. I had reached out to the customer service by email but no response was received from their end. This is an update after 4-years and nothing has changed. The whole facility should be reported to the Parramatta Council for health and safety reasons and the irony is this multiplex is operating right under the nose of the Council's flashy new premises.

My review is based on my regular visits to Event Cinemas Parramatta. I sometimes feel bad for the cleaning crew. Such an undisciplined crowd that spills popcorn and leaves trash lying around the walkways etc. The cleaning crew can be responsible for cleaning the cinema halls but then I guess, Event Cinemas need to tackle the cleanliness issue in the hallways.

The hallways are poorly sign posted and toilets are hard to find if you are new to the Cinemas. I wanted to provide a feedback and the number listed on Google goes to an automated voice message asking me to leave a feedback online. I left my phone number with the employee at the Counter asking the duty manager to call me on 30th September. I still haven't received a call yet. Such is their apathy and customer service.

The online booking convenience fee is $1.50 per ticket and it is a day-light robbery. For that price and transactions per day, I wonder why Event Cinemas finds it hard to employ a person to answer customer complaints? Or at least clean the common areas?

The management wants to rake in profits. Unless there is a worthy competitor in that area, Event Cinemas will continue to remain dirty and callous. Till then it is a curse for residents in and...

I used to love going to Events at Parra to see the latest movies, Parra was meant to be the upmarket cinema experience however after my experience today I won’t be back.

Wowzers, this place has taken off its belt and let itself go. The reviews here are all correct, Events Parra is happy to take your money but the cinemas are beyond filthy. It’s probably more cleaner in a prison cell in Bali than this place.

The seats in Vmax1 (top level) are old and very dirty, you can tell they haven’t been washed or cleaned in year, the layers of dirt on them is just outstanding. We had to move seats a couple times. This place is just so depressing and run down.

This place must be understaffed or the cleaners are just happy to take your money but not do their job thoroughly. The cinemas were left with popcorn boxes everywhere, popcorn on seats and even a piece of chewing gum left on the seat next to me which I found pretty gross. I didn’t want to move my hand for fears of touching it.

To top it off, it smelt like urine in some of the back seating area that probably should be addressed.

There’s also unpaying wildlife watching the movie as well, there was a pigeon in the cinema watching the movie. How long or how it got there I have no idea 🤷‍♀️ I’m glad it didn’t fly into me during the movie as I might’ve screamed.

Also there’s a mirror missing in the toilet, like this place is falling apart and no one seems to be fixing it.

Sorry Events you’ve dropped the ball, I thought my experience at Readings years ago was bad but this takes it to a whole new level.
