The only reason why there is a single star here is because of the club manager, Kelly. She was kind enough to refund us our money and gave us a couple of sandwiches to take in case we were hungry.... We arrived just before 1.30pm and after getting our table, I ordered our food- pulled pork burger with chips and chicken parmigiana with chips and salad. The girl at the counter advised me that the food may take up to 45 minutes to arrive and I said ok....this was at 1.36pm. By 2.30pm, I went up to the counter and enquired as to when we should be expecting our food, the staff apologised and said that it shouldn't be long...I sat back down and waited...the staff came back and was told the food will be there in 5 minutes. This is now 1 hour and 8 minutes since I ordered. After about 3 minutes the food came- needless to say, the serving looked small and the salad looked wilted with dressing slopped on top. I took a photo just before I started eating. My partner then said," my food is cold.." and he said he will return it. By this time, the manager was at the counter. My partner informed her, she said " I served that about 15 minutes ago!" which my partner then said, " it has not been more than 5 minutes- the meat inside is cold.." The staff "touched" the filling and agreed that it was cold and offered to "heat it up" which my partner said no. Meanwhile, I took 1 bite of my parmigiana- the cheese was warm, but the chicken patty was also cold, so I decided to leave it and asked for our money back. My point being, if you are told that the food will take 45 minutes to arrive...go somewhere else!!!! After apologising, we were told that they were a chef down...after waiting for more than 1 hour, you would expect the food to be wotth it right??? We left starving. What a shame. The menu is simple and uncomplicated, but the price is actually not very reasonable. Otherwise, the place itself is family friendly and the restaurant part overlooks Collaroy Beach and the surrounding golf course. My recommendation:...
Read moreWith the green of the golf course on one side and the blue of the ocean on the other the setting for our wedding ceremony for 100 guests on the lawn at Long Reef Golf Club was idyllic. Many an excellent photo ensued. Our wedding co-ordinator Megan took care of all the seating together with back-drop arrangements and also ensured a seamless entry of the bridal party to 'the alter'. A fresh nor-easter kept us enlivened but the rain stayed away. A back-up ceremony location set-up on the dance floor inside the clubhouse was not required. Our musician had access to direct power and the atmosphere was wonderful. An intimate, beautiful service, and now we are married! The fully professional full-time wedding co-ordinating team at Long Reef enabled Belinda and I to choose a template, run-sheet and menu for the reception to best suit our style, taste and budget within the spacious and private Main Room within the clubhouse overlooking Fisherman's Bay and Collaroy Beach. Megan and also Alana helped us step by step over the months leading up to the wedding and reception to ensure we were comfortable and on target. From recommended short-lists of complementary professionals provided by Long Reef we selectively tailored the services to embellish our reception. The amazing flower arrangements from Briohney at Copper Beech; the devine wedding cake from Bill at Sweet Connoisseur; the fabulous photography of Ronny from Creek Street Photography; the show-stopping drapery and fairy-lights from Lamel all set us up for an exceptionally warm and loving reception. Combined with the delicious food prepared by the Long Reef chefs and fabulous service and guidance with a smile from the Long Reef staff it culminated in the best wedding and reception that you could ever hope for; and all that despite adhering to the Covid19 protocols. For a relaxed yet sophisticated, scenically located wedding hosted by a marvellous support team we highly recommend the Long Reef Golf Club. Belinda and Glen_ Married Saturday 17th...
Read moreYou don’t take bookings 7 minutes apart and get concerned about your members not being able to play at pace. And only pick on the ladies because you can’t pick on someone your own size. And DEFINITELY you don’t talk to them like they’re kids with a sarcastic tone.
Extremely disappointed and angry about my experience today. We took our friends visiting from overseas and made 2 groups men at the front ladies at the back following us. We were backed up by 4 groups in front but didn’t mind as the social tees were only 7 minutes apart and slow play happens. It was our first time there and we were playing social; but no one explained to us that the course wasn’t 9out 9in. After the 8th, we stopped for a toilet break. So did the ladies and the group behind them. Our group even went to buy drinks because we were waiting for the next hole to clear. The extremely arrogant staff at the proshop only picked on the ladies to tell them off and told them they can’t stop halfway because they have to keep up the pace of play. One of our ladies told him they’re just using the toilet but he insisted that they move along and use the toilet at the 13th hole or they’ll have to skip the next hole. They ended up having to skip the 9th hole They were very upset and intimidated by this. Also the fact that they only told the ladies off despite the fact that it wasn’t them holding up the pace. Yes we’re Asians and they might not have spoken fluently but the fact that he scolded them and speak to them like they’re 7yr olds is the most upsetting. I thought this was being racist. When I called the proshop to talk to the staff he was arrogant and acted like he was high on authority. He justified himself but later I found out he was telling lies. By the end of the round I went to speak to him but he had left for the day.
I’m very...
