Manly Wharf feels like the start of a small holiday, even if you are just popping over for lunch. The ferry slides in, ropes hit the bollards, and you step straight into sea air and the buzz of the Corso a few minutes away. I like pausing on the pier for a moment before moving on. You get gulls wheeling, a view back across the harbour, and that first whiff of salt that instantly resets your mood. The setup makes life easy. Signage is clear, platforms are wide, and tapping on or off takes seconds, so peak periods still move smoothly. If the weather is kind, grab a spot on the ferry’s outside deck for the run in or out, the views both ways are special. Inside the wharf you have options for every appetite. Quick coffee before the return trip, fresh fish and chips eaten along the railings, a cold drink at one of the waterside bars, or gelato for the walk toward the beach. Prices vary, but there is something for a fast snack or a sit down catch up, and staff handle the rush with good humour. It is also a handy base for exploring. Turn left and follow the path toward Fairlight for a quieter foreshore stroll, head straight up the Corso for the main beach, or angle right for the Shelly Beach track if you are chasing a swim and a snorkel. Facilities are what you hope for in a busy spot: clean bathrooms, water fountains, bins that get emptied often, and plenty of benches to wait for the next service. A few tips help. Weekends can be lively, so arrive a touch early, keep chips away from bold seagulls, and bring a light layer because the breeze bites as soon as the sun drops. Whether you are commuting, meeting friends or starting a day by the sea, Manly Wharf makes the transition from city to coast feel effortless.

Your steppingstone to Manly when you are either going to Manly Beach or Manly Markets. Manly Wharf is a Heritage listed passenger terminal wharf located at West Esplanade, serving Manly which is a Sydney suburb in the Sydney Northern Beaches Council local government area of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ. Since the 185O’s, it has served as the Manly embarkation and disembarkation for the Manly to Sydney Ferry Service. The wharf has been redeveloped a number of times since the first structure was constructed in 1856. The wharf was added to the New South Wales State Heritage List on 18th April 2000. In addition to passenger services , a cargo service was also run to Manly until the opening of the 1928 Spit Bridge. Following the closure of the cargo service, an amusement park, Manly Fun Pier, was opened on the East Pier in 1931, which closed prior to the 1990 redevelopment of the Pier. Most convenient to get to Circular Quay by way of the fast ferry or the regular ferry. They run between them every 15 or so minutes so very regular. The ferry ride from Circular Quay is beautiful with spectacular views. There’s an abundance of cafes and restaurants to choose from so you won’t be short of a choice. There’s toilet facilities down stairs and the wharf is only a short walk from Manly Beach and the Markets. This is a really convenient way when you want to go to Manly. There’s also a great information centre just outside the wharf to answer all your questions that need answering 😊

Hi To whom it may concern

Yesterday 10/12/2022 , me and my husband went to Manly beach by ferry since afternoon. Well, at 5pm or 5.15pm we wanted to go back to circular quay by ferry as well from Manly Wraf. So we went to the wraf and we were waiting behind the closed gate till the ferry comes so we get in. The man who was responsible about opening that gate out of no where and without any explanation just come to my husband and said: ā€œgo backā€ and in a very bad attitude and rude way as well as humiliating looks. And I looked around to see if there is by instructions or a line that we crossed and there was nothing. Literally nothing. We were like everyone else standing behind the gate and waiting. I really don’t know why he talked to us in that rude way and without any explanation. Ofcourse I don’t know his name but I know he was a mid age man and worked in manly wraf- ferry on Saturday 10/12/2022 between 430pm and 530pm and he was responsible to open the big gate for the people. I know that is enough to figure out who is that person. We love to follow the rules and we always do, and we would love to be treated fairly and respectfully specially when we did nothing wrong or broke any rule!! I hope and I would appreciate you take my note into consideration and an action taken fairly in regards that attitude and rude way of...
