Powerhouse Parramatta — Attraction in Sydney

Parramatta is set to welcome the Powerhouse Museum, a major win for the area. For a long time, most of Sydney’s top attractions have been concentrated in the CBD, but Parramatta has much to offer. With the Powerhouse relocating here, it’s yet another highlight for the community. The choice of location, right next to the river in a prime spot, is interesting—especially since there are other sites in Parramatta that could have worked just as well. The decision to demolish a heritage house to make way for the museum raised concerns, and I’m still waiting to see if they will fulfill their promise to rebuild the house, brick by brick, as they said. Once complete, the museum will be a fantastic destination for kids and school groups to explore science and history. Though the construction is still underway, the steel structure is impressive. What a boring design of a building that is architecturally a huge fail. These architects should not be allowed to design an outhouse in future let alone any major buildings. Standard big white columns on the outside thats come to represent uninspired 2020s architecture. And to top the building design off noting this is a MUSEUM rather than incorporate historical buildings into the design they have moved an old building out completely and ripped the guts out of other historical buildings that they wanted to knock down only leaving the standard front of the building standing.
