I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lola Cocina, a delightful Spanish restaurant, and I must say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our visit was for my farewell lunch with colleagues, and we had pre-ordered our meals. To our delight, Lola Cocina got every single order correct and served them promptly to our table.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the staff members. Their genuine smiles and friendly demeanour created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It immediately set the tone for a memorable dining experience.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the food. We indulged in a variety of tapas, including chicken and lamb. These succulent morsels were bursting with flavour, and the chargrill cooking method was evident in every bite. The juiciness of the meats paired perfectly with the accompanying sauces and seasonings, making each tapa a delightful treat for the taste buds.
However, the true showstopper of the day was the seafood paella. The aroma alone was enough to make our mouths water. The rice was cooked to perfection, achieving that ideal al dente texture. The generous assortment of seafood, from plump Prawns to tender mussels, added a delightful oceanic twist to the dish. Every spoonful was a symphony of flavours that transported us straight to the coast of Spain.
To complement our meal, we decided to try their renowned sangria. And oh boy, it did not disappoint. The sweet, fruity notes mingled harmoniously with the tang of the red wine, creating a refreshing and delightful beverage that perfectly accompanied our feast.
Overall, Lola Cocina exceeded our expectations in every way. The impeccable service, friendly staff, and mouthwatering food made it an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in authentic Spanish cuisine, Lola Cocina is the place to be. Don't forget to try their heavenly sangria—it's a true...

We ordered the following:
Empanadillas de carne spanish pork choizo and beef empanada pastries served w/ salsa picante (4units)
I heard empanadas were staple dishes, always served at every Latin gathering & delicious, so thought we'd try these out. I thought these would come in puff pastry but it was the tart base type of pastry used. It was ok - they were really small & had more dough to filling ratio. Would've been better if there was more filling & made with puff pastry
Linguine sevillana Linguine pasta cooked in red bravas sauce with fresh mixed seafood (black mussels, tiger prawns, calamari, fish), spinach & a touch of truffle olive oil
We loved this dish. Better than any we've eaten at other Italian restaurants. Every element was cooked to perfection & flavored well without tasting fishy/seafood-ishy
Paella De Marisco Seafood paella cooked with fresh black mussels, king prawns, octopus calamari, tiger prawns, fish, sofrito, seafood stock, green peas, Spanish bomb rice
We love paella but unfortunately not this one. The seafood was not fresh, it tasted old & the rice wasn't fully cooked - some were grainy & it came out earlier than expected, which may have explained why it had a half risotto-like texture (grainy yet gluggy). It needed another 5-10min to get the crispy base & for the sauce to cook thru the rice evenly. The flavor is what made this dish nice, but we still couldn't finish it
Great service, ambience & pasta - hence the 3 stars. Would've been lower if we had to pay full price 🤗 I still would come back to try the tapas, as that's what a majority of other customers ordered & they...
Read moreMade a booking here for my birthday dinner. When we arrived it was 5:50pm and we were seated at a plastic fold out table (with no table cloth) even though there were plenty of proper wooden tables available.
Service started out great and the food came out quickly. The paellas tasted great and the tapas were ok. Then it went down hill from there.
One particular waitress with blonde hair came over and started clearing our plates while we were still eating without even asking us! She even grabbed one of our wine glasses even though we had half a jug of sangria left on the table! One of my family members got annoyed at the waitress and asked her why she was taking away her wine glass when she was still drinking. The waitress was unapologetic and said she would bring a new glass.
Another waitress came over and asked us if we wanted a takeaway container for the left over paella but we told her we were still eating it. We had only been seated for an hour and already we felt like they were rushing us out the door!
The blonde waitress came back again and took away the plate of salad even though my family was still eating away at it. Again she didn't ask, she just decided we were done and took the plate away. By then we were all fed up with how rude this waitress was and how unwelcomed we felt there. There was a lot of tension with everyone at the table.
I was very upset with this experience and we ended up leaving at 7pm. My husband spoke to the manager who said the waitress was new and we were given a discount voucher to return to the restaurant but I'm never coming back here again!
We're paying customers. You made $250 from us that night. Let us finish our food at our own pace and wait for us to leave before you...
