Strandbad Alte Donau — Attraction in Vienna

The best place to spend a summer day, the tickets were 7,60 with all included, we really thought it was nothing like described but it's even better, u have 3 pools, each one of different sizes. 2 volleyball camps, 2 football camps, a playground for the kids, tables for tennis, all in 1 side. The other side is the river, where u can also stay and have a swim, all of the places are watched by lifeguards. There's a shop where u can buy all the swimming things and rent some rackets to play tennis (3€ for 1h). The sun loungers are free and u can put them wherever you need, something AMAZING. The restaurant/bar it's really comfortable and the prices are not that high, the food is good and the vibe is amazing, all the waiters were really nice. Everything was really perfect, the only thing I would say that wasn't nice was the lifeguard of the pool in the morning, he's rude, no patience for the kids, and speaks (jokes even) with people in the worst way possible,I guess if he's tired he should just quit, it's...

Overall, I had a pleasant experience. The river is kept clean, and is not that deep, highly recommended for families with toddlers. There’s a lifeguard on duty always.

There’s a wide variety of things to do, if swimming is not on the agenda. The location is very big, it has a football field, volleyball and a restaurant/ cafe. I recommend packing your own food, as it’s quite expensive inside. If you forgot to bring a swimsuit or want an inflatable floatie, you can always buy one there. Loved it! Came to Vienna for a city trip, but got surprised by the weather (over 36 degrees each day we were there). After looking for a place to swim, settled on this, and we weren't disappointed! Great location (get off at Alte Donau and simply walk to the entrance, which is the second Bad you will encounter.). Entrance price is only 4.80€ after 1pm, a little more expensive before.
